This is probably the worst time management/play calling in all of the years that I have been watching football

Not playing to win there. That’s the type of stuff you see with defensive minded coaches.

All that and you can't even get a FG attempt? Terrible.

To answer your question, Stroud summed it up perfectly earlier in the season:

"That's the thing in this offense, every play just doing your job -- even if it means gain of 2 [yards]. That's what we're being asked to do. That's what we're asked of, so that's something I'm still getting used to.

"I think when that time comes, we got to find answers, and that's where/when the ball is getting out for 2 yards, that's when I trust wideout [Xavier Hutchinson] or one of the guys on the outside to make somebody miss and get 8 [yards]. So, that's the type of offense we're living in."

Watt not holding back on calling out this pathetic close to the half when the offense had an opportunity to put more points on the board.

I refuse to believe Kai isn't capable of a 65 yarder

But I also remember he was hurt and maybe they cautioned because of it

You must be kidding, like Watt said, the first play set them to go for a score, there was plenty of time for the 2 minute offense

The problem with the offense, the first problem, is the coaching staff as a whole has basically no confidence in the offense lol.

With 2 mins to go apparently the coaches had 0 confidence that the Texans could even get 3 points and their entire plan seemed to be to run out the clock.

Of course if the coaching staff doesn't believe the team can score that lack of confidence is going to bleed down to the players.

Horrendous clock management on that last drive. Demeco looked clueless.

Stroud does not look good so far today.

I've been on Team Demeco his whole tenure and didn't buy into the pundits of the world who kept criticizing his coaching but HOLY CRAP WTF WAS THAT LAST 2 MIN DRIVE?!?!

I think it would be better if we didn’t have an OC learning on the job while an OL is doing the same.

Even JJ watt was so baffled at Texans offense and their lack of sense of urgency.

    And he's a defensive player!

Sure, but they wanted to make sure they wasted all the time off the clock so that they wouldn't give Indy the ball back.

It's super conservative, but the offense hasn't done anything all year to think you can trust them.

As it stands, they went into the half with the lead and they'll be getting the ball to start the second half.
