The point is depth but to be honest, Dorian is not an offensive guy, he is probably a tad more versatile than Dillon, not as good. Brooks is by far the edgiest player in the league. There is no Ron Artest and Metta World Friend.
DFS is Brooks replacement. If there’s one thing the Rockets need now is another strong defender at forward. I actually think he fits the Rockets needs better than Brooks does. Brooks struggled at times with true bigs. DFS is a natural PF that plays big but versatile enough to stick with SFs. The Rockets don’t really have anyone like this now, Jabari is a PF but struggles with size as does Tari. DFS has been a favorite everywhere he’s been. I live in LA and fans here were disappointed with him leaving and I truly think Luka tried to keep him as they had great chemistry. He doesn’t need the ball but scores well in the flow of offense. I felt Brooks at times would slow the offense down and look to score more than he needed to. DFS reminds me of Okogie, someone who knows his role as a defender. He’s not an aggressive defender as Brooks is but he uses his footwork to get ahead of opponents. I would put DFS ahead of Brooks on defense for his versatility and is much less foul prone.
Great post! Unfortunately it might be wasted in this particular thread? DFS truly is an outstanding defender. Can't wait to get him on the court in the New Year (hopefully sooner). He is a certified NBA level rotation player for any team.
Much respect but Dodo was never known to 'score' more than 7-9 pts, may that be in the flow of the Offense..... PJ Washington fit the bill better with Luka in Dallas. Some guy that can play a little Defense and knock down shots and can hit a few shots on his own. Both him and Brooks bring different things, Dodo fit better with superstars, Brooks fit better with a team that has no defensive leader.
