Check out the GS forums. Nobody knows Reed is a #3 pick because he was in the g league his rookie year and didn’t get any meaningful minutes with the team. but most GS fans are chubby California teens that only stared watching basketball 5 years ago. Worst fan base in basketball he needs to knock down the middies, a good 3pt shooter is too big of a task need to temper expectations he can be a Shaun Livingston type
With the attention he's getting from the 3pt line he's going to be able to fake that shot as the defender flies by then take 2 steps forward and hit a wide open mid-range all game.
Knocking mid range shots will be helpful, but he was making 3 point shots with good form for the most part last season. Catch and shoot from the corners over 30 percent, two 3 pointers a game is my only expectation. He should use his floater more often instead of crashing into defenders in the paint as well.
Castle and Sarr have been pretty good this year. Castle has the advantage of also doing it on a, so far, good team, as well. With Fox coming back, I don't know how it'll affect his numbers, but Castle has shown he can put up pretty good numbers despite not having much of a 3 point shot (yet). Sarr's doing his work on a sorry team, but he's looking like he may end up being what many people thought he was going to be in the draft.
Edey has also looked pretty good...a few other players from that draft have flashed as well... Maybe that draft won't end up being so "weak" when we look back at it in a few years.
absolutely, most shots should be 3s. But you have to be deadly from the midrange to open the floor up. I got on this team for taking too many long 2s this year, it has to stop and convert a lot of those to 3s Morey and his stupid crowd thought no middies was the answer or only rarely. Its poetic that's how we lost the "true" last game of the harden/morey era in 2018
So those are fans, but GSW players also showed remarkable ignorance and disrespect to the kid. Watch the highlights that you posted. On Reed's first three, Steph switches on Sengun and Draymond goes under. Crowding Alpi and letting Reed slip sideways for the three. On Reed's second three, Jimmy B. didnt even close out, didnt put up a hand up at all. KYP??? Podz gives Reed a free path to the basket, to stay with Amen and prevent the lob??? What's the thought process? Reed will be too scared to walk to the basket and lay it in? Same story with the dutchman (Post) a bit later. Staying with Clint to prevent the lob and giving Reed a free lane to the basket? Kid is still very much under everyone's radar.
I get what you’re saying but the Rockets were reportedly in phase 2 which was to be competitive and win games and not developmental mode. They were looking to win and build from there into phase 3 which is championship contending mode which we currently are in. If we didn’t make the playoffs last year and played sheppard or cam heavy minutes or developmental guys then that runs contrary to our plans and we wouldn’t have a foundation to build on. Last year’s playoff experience made this team better. Something to build on into phase 3. Win now.
On the second two its because there was a big threat with the middie or 3. They were doubling him The scouting report is out for Reed, its been clear
The next chapter of this story might show up not as more points for Reed, but as big games for Alpi and the lob catchers, as opponents faced with these dilemmas increasingly choose to cover Reed and live with the consequences.
Look back through all my posts and i specifically commented on what’s good and bad on sheppard. Don’t be lazy and do the work. Go ahead. Most fans don’t tell you which specific plays or time when they judge players. I don’t have to tell you exactly which play which quarter which minute. I just know what i saw in multiple games and commented on it. But you only see the bad. You took offense to my words. You got defensive and emotional and resorted to aggression because i dared to criticize your beloved player. This is bias. This is irrational. This is stupid.
Nook has no motivation or reason to make it up. It’s surprising but could very well be true. He gave him the green light yesterday , as much as you do with KD level players
I guess the real GM is Austin Reaves' agent that got him undrafted on purpose......and giftwrap him for the Lakers.
