Being out this long, the rockets will probably send him down to RGV to ramp up and get his legs back?
DFS was jumping out of the seats and jumping around when we went on the run. He definitely close to return and medical teams are really careful since what happened to Tari last year when he came back little too early. Also NBA got some weird schedule where teams get +10 days break starting 2nd week of December so maybe Rockets can ride out 5 more games even without KD so both can get enough rest and comeback December 18. (Jazz, Jazz, Kings, Suns and Mavs)
Ankle surgeon here . Different injuries have different recoveries. Also jumping up and down of excitement while on the bench is much different than the game where there is high velocity rotations , torque and change of direction on the foot and ankle . After tennis, basketball is the toughest sport on the foot and ankle . although I am concerned of his actual injury and the surgery that required . Is it just a simple ligament repair , a tendon repair or much worse like and OCD? some injuries you just can’t recover enough from to get back on the court , even after successful surgeries .
there will be games played during that time period between dec 6 and 18. That’s when the nba cup knockout round, semifinals and finals will play, as well as each team in the losers bracket that will have one game on the road and one game at home. they only slate 80 games for every team at the start of the season to account for the nba cup and losers bracket. Rockets will likely play Wolves, Warriors, or Clippers for their rescheduled games.
The lack of any recovery timeline really pisses me off. This was our big free agent signing of the offseason. At least level with the fans. It’s not a major f-up unless he’s still out in Feb/March, but not communicating any recovery timeline seems real fishy to me.
No comparison IMO. I'm not one to run with silly conspiracies when teams don't give details about player injuries, but it seems clear to me the Texans are hiding something with Mixon. The Rockets are not with DFS. They are not providing guesstimates on the timing of his return because they aren't certain, which is quite common. There is no reason to feed that beast. The first "update" comes when he starts participating in practice.
Exactly. I wouldn't hire someone in my company only to say not available without a return timeline. What is this? We're the customers/fans. Zero communication?
GTFO Clutchfans with your "expertise" and "experience"; this place is for only for people with confidence-to-knowledge ratios over 50.
Remember when people were pissed at the Dillon Brooks signing and the Adams trade? Even the Capela trade earlier this year....just trust Stone it will eventually pay off.
Been remaining positive about this situation but starting to become more pessimistic and coming to the realization this could wind up a truly awful signing.... Not crippling, but still has the potential to be especially bad. . Even when/if he comes back, will he be close to the level he was before?
I think we're playing the long game. Our schedule has been light and not challenging. We'll need DFS healthy for a deep playoff run.
We at least have a timeline with Tari. He's due back 2-4 weeks from now. I'd be shocked if DFS was on the court before him.
