While I do agree that last season Reed didn’t deserve to get limited play time, which definitely held back his development as a rookie, I think that this year he would have gotten his minutes even with healthy Fred. After all, Stone didn’t make any moves this summer to sign a backup pg, because they built on Reed’s role off the bench. But Fred’s injury definitely accelerated Reed’s development.

Last year - Draymond would start chirping at Jalen to get him off his game & it worked. Called him out for his nails, his girl etc.

Reed is growing up in front of our eyes. I admit I was skeptical of him until he made the corner 3 last season with Kawhi Leonard all over him.

I'm really happy to see his progress. Go Reed! Go Houston Rockets!

This new and improved version of Reed is exceeding all of my expectations. More aggressive on both ends, hitting shots, handling the ball well with hesitation moves and the ability to get out of traps. Perfect fit on this team too.

On paper Reed/Amen/Tari/Jabari/Alperen sounds like a great core group to build around.

31 points on 25 shots is a bit inefficient but I can see the improvement. One step at a time.

Yes! I'm enjoying seeing a skilled and talented player adapt to the speed and mentality of the NBA... then progress and progress. You don't see that as much as you would think. Reed is about to be one of the big stars in this league. I liked Steve Nash but man Reed brings defense and more athleticism.

Reed went from opponents straight up disrespect his open 3s to now being doubled by the warriors within 1 month.

everything must be moving hella fast for him.

So happy to see his rapid improvement so early in the season! If this continues, I'd still like to get a guard who is a plus ball handler/defender to relieve pressure off KD/Sengun, but that may be a luxury as opposed to a necessity.

last year those doubles would have scared him. He understood the assignment. KD not around won’t happen, he should be free flowing through the offense with open looks.

He shot 48% from the field as a perimeter player. Is that inefficient?

48% for a guard if he averages that is really ****ing good

    That was MJ’s career FG%

Reed's ascension unlocks this entire team, imo. The injection of a player that DOESN'T have to go 1v1 but, rather, moves and cuts and repositions for 3pt shots at an effective level is incredibly difficult for defenses to account for. I don't care how dominant a player is 1v1. I can load up a defense to account for his gravity. When you are dominant with or without the ball there is a problem for defenses. Suddenly, defenses have to shift, switch, and stretch the court accounting 4 him. Now you have KD wide open, Jabari wide open, Amen diving or dunking. The only question will be the intelligence of the teams passing to the open men.

I’d rather have my scorer having an inefficient game like this, than a single-digit points performance when you need him most. Reed played with no fear, he did not get frustrated when shos didn’t go in. Besides, most of his missed attempts were from 3, we can’t have him nailing them 50% each game. He did made most of his 2 points attempts, CP3 style. With both him and KD hitting those long 2s, we can really destroy our opponents defense.

He was our most efficient player that game and he was able to get good shots up.

Reed's eFG% against Golden State was .579 -- that's essentially bang on the league average of .582 (which includes bigs).

Know who happens to have a career eFG% of exactly .582? Steph Curry.

And Jalen got to play a ton of minutes every year. Reed barely even touched the floor last year. 100% mentality difference
