Well they trapped him a bunch tonight and that didnt stop him from being effective like it did Jalen, so maybe lol

He really shouldve been given more leash and i think part of his "confidence issues" was just playing too tight because he was getting yanked everytime he made a mistake.

Hes gotten better this year, but he was good enough to play last season. Biggest difference this year is Ime letting him play through bad stretches.

I love that pull up midrange it’s refreshing and reminds me of CP3. Plus it’s almost automatic now.

Ironically this is closer to the typical starting game for Reed. As in, Reed already flashed this precedent at a stat filling starter last year. But weak off the bench most other games

So figured Reed would at least get points in. It's if he plays as a complementary winning starter, gelling with the true 1st unit. Some 6th men's benefit is great off the bench against 2nd teamers, but no benefit as a starter

Reed showed he can elevate the floor of the starters making right decisions, timely D stops, playing with poise & control in leverage situations, etc. Pretty much what a "good point guard via trade" is supposed to do. With room to grow

Eh, I don't know if Reed was ready last season. But Aaron was, and Ime barely played him in the postseason since he insisted on only using 8 guys.

Reed wasnt ready last year. He went to the G League for valid reasons. Simple as that. Not playing Holiday shouldn't have been done though

I don’t believe Reed’s success is temporary or that he’s on a hot streak. If you look at his college games this is how he plays. He’s deceptively good at slowing opponents down than taking it up a gear, he’s faster than he appears at getting his shots off on drives, very good at getting his hands in for steals, high level court vision especially when it comes to bigs inside for easy dunks, and his shot is about as pure as it gets. Based on this I don’t think we’ve seen Reed fully comfortable yet and it’s starting to come out these past few games.

Reed 100% was not ready for playoffs last season but the only reason is because we only played him inconsistent garbage minutes AND didn’t even keep him down in the G-League to let him work on his confidence. Ime/Rockets literally chose the worst option for his development.

Thank the stars FVV got hurt or else we’d still be watching 40mins of FVV.

Reed is so elite at swiping the ball that referees can't even react quick enough.
For these guys that love anticipating fouls on any drive by a guard, I find it amazing. He has conditioned the refs that he does it pure like Bolivian coca.

Nah. He's so much better this season. it's not even comparable.

For one, he's making his shots. But, more importantly he's seeing plays develop so much better. He just needed to adjust to the league. His handle has improved drastically. He also seems to finally understand he's on the court to shoot and doesn't pass up good shots as often to kick to open non shooters behind the 3pt line.

He started this year with the same role as he got last year. He was backup PG. But, this year he's played so great that he was immediately promoted to 6th man. If he had played the same Udoka would have began to play Holiday more again, even without injuries.

    Aggressive Reed: good

    Passive Reed: not so good

His role is lead dog. That’s the mindset he has to have to reach his full potential.

    I’ve said this many times

he’s such an elite scorer that when he has to second guess etc he play very conflicted and timid. I think he’s best as a 6th ma so that he can keep that confidence heading to the post season

This kid is freaking good. He's getting doubled hard in his second year on a nationally televised game. Once he's seasoned it's lights out for the league.

Haha that’s so true, but really no small rookie guard this side of chris paul can contribute positively in the playoffs.

A good franchise cornerstone, now need to get a young bruiser from the Draft to take burden off of Sengün.

    Get an offensive Adams replacement.
