you can not teach elite shooting. I cant believe some of the people on this forum at the start of the season who were ready to package him for a bag of skittles.
Like I said before, the only good thing about FVV's injury is that it accelerates the development of Reed. If FVV is healthy, we for sure won't be able to see the current version of Reed! At least not this season....And again, if not this season, I am not sure whether the management still have the faith and patience. I am happy for Reed.
Yeah because that is what is important (some of these posts came from who the rockets should draft after the lottery) when building a team. It's too bad the Rockets didnt get Dalton K like you wanted. The future would be so bright then. You will have to wait until the 2027 season for Reed to be the same age Dalton was his rookie year. As you said in your posts, drafting Reed is his Stone's biggest blunder.
Ok, easy…. let’s calm down there lol. If Reed becomes 2/3 of what Curry is (and without the annoying mouth guard thing), this will be a fun decade of Rockets basketball. The kid can shoot, and he’s won us at least 2-3 games this season.
The shooting obviously is what it is, but the two things that impressed me most tonight (and honestly have been 10x improved over last season) are his handle and his elevation on his jumpshot. Its a rare quality where it feels like a guy is jumping on springs to get his jumpshots off, and it seems like Reed has that, which really helps a small guy like him get his shot off in traffic or when he's crowded by a defender. And then he also he had some pretty crazy dribble moves to get his shots off tonight, Tim Legler kept pointing it out (I know he's a big Sheppard fan), it was really cool to see.
Teams never managed to stop CP3 from hitting those middies, I want the same thing from Reed who is arguably the better jump shooter
Yep. When Kerr of all people has Draymond and Butler that extended to cover Reed, that tells you something. The midrange dominance was unexpected. Worth a watch.
He's a better shooter, taller, and a better jumper than CP3. If he gets comfortable operating and getting to his space there's zero reason that isn't completely sustainable.
I mean there's no way...but do you think if Reed played against GSW in the playoffs that the Rockets might have won? I mean there is no way just thinking aloud here.
One thing that really impresses me is Reed had his season high 2 games ago, then against Phoenix had his first bad game in a while, then bounced back with a career-high tonight. Last season Reed had plenty of talent, he just lacked confidence. Reed's ability to rebound from an off night speaks volumes of his mental development.
