Just tell your boy that he got to see Cam Whitmore miss 1 more shot than Dolecezza Gelato (who for a second I honestly thought was some bench player from Italy)

With his fall on draft night Cam doesn’t hide his shortcomings very well and lives up to his expectations from around the league. His ability was never questioned.

    Because DD think's he's a #1 option.

At least move it out of the GARM into the NBA section.

Dude has some issues. He unloaded on me about how he is helping out a current wide receiver for the cowboys (whose last name rhymes with Rickens) with prostitution addiction problems… yeah he’s a mess still, and the fact that he’s giving current star athletes counseling tells you all you need to know.

I think we can conclude at this point that we totally swindled the wizards

Great story, thing is we have yet to figure out whether it is immaturity issues or some personality disorder, anxiety, mental issues and that he is coping with.....

    Or both.

Until then, I am not rushing to judgment.

Given the history the Rockets had with difficult athletes, of course, going different directions would be the preferable course of action.

2026 second-round pick: This pick was originally from the Chicago Bulls.

2029 second-round pick: This pick was originally from the Sacramento Kings.

The story of Cam needs to be drilled in young players minds on what not to do. All he had to do was keep his head down and give effort on the defensive end while not sulking on the bench when he didn't get his number called. Now he is averaging the same points and 23 seconds more playing time per game. On the worst team in the NBA. He could have easily slid in the Okogie spot this season. And Cam is a better scorer. But Okogie does all the little things and is a good role player. Cam going to mess around and end up playing overseas.

I wouldn't say these are similar cases. Since "Fez" was actually successful in the NFL. Maybe not as successful as he thinks he should be, but still successful. I actually understand Cam to a certain point. I grew up zoned to crappy public schools as a decently smart and studious person. I got straight As in school without even really working all that hard. Never had illusions that I was a genius or anything, but I thought at the very least school was easy. Then I went to a pretty good university and suddenly realized that majority of the students around me were smarter and more knowledgeable than I was. For the first time in my life, school was hard and I was the crappy C student who had trouble following the professor in class. And I realized I need to work harder than my classmates and study when they partied. It was definitely not fun when you get out of the house, see all your new friends having good times while you sit in the library cause your grade sucks.

I could only imagine Cam being by far the best player on his team for his entire life only to be told he wasn't that special in college. And then REALLY told he's not that special in the NBA. That's a culture shock that can be hard to overcome without the correct mindset and family support.

Yeah I mean it’s just a matter of whether you believe or not that the Rockets care a lot about those things and if you believe they are a good talent risk/reward evaluator.

It’s obvious there is some maturity issues there but DD is right that he’s young and virtually all young athletes have maturity issues.

The question is just is the talent worth whatever risks there were?? Obviously the rockets think no… and nights like tonight where he drops a goose egg playing for the worst team in the league reinforce those who believe the rockets know what they are doing.

Example - JD Davison - Young player, plays great defense, makes plays for his teammates.
Positive player, doesn't sulk on the bench when he doesn't play, works hard and entered the rotation.

Great Alley Oop pass to Capela for a Dunk and great dribbling and drive pass out for a 3 point shot, great awareness on the court of where the the 3 point shooters are, very unselfish player.

Great IQ on playmaking, I hope JD Davison stays in the Rotation.

I like the guy. He has shown potential to belong in the big league. Not sure if he's talented enough to be a rotation player on a contender. He should be happy if he can reach Aaron Holiday's level. I do hope we can keep him.
