They're sneaky that way. Typically, they will release him a week after our game. Call it an intelligence operation.
After watching them against the chiefs I do. The colts have 2 wins against teams with a .500 record or better. The texans have 4 wins against teams with a .500 record or better. Even if you take Baltimore away it's stil more. Taylor will get his like Cook did, but they can slow him down enough that those 3rd and shorts will be harder for Jones to get to. I think Buffalo has a better offense when you adjust for competition. I could see similar games to Buffalo one... but with stroud adding more cushion...
Probably has an inside reputation of doing players right. Pierce didn’t want to go to Philly so released him to let him choose.
If CJ can simply be passable to end the season, the Texans have no reason to not be playing the Colts in week 18 for the Division title. For the remaining schedule: - no team has a dominating pass rush. Yes KC has Jones, and Oakland has Crosby, but you can scheme around 1 guy to not kill the gameplan. - no team has a dominate pass blocking OL. Which should allow the Texans D Line to control the game. and only Indy has a good/great running game. But both Pittsburgh and KC has put out a blueprint on how to corral Jonathan Taylor. No idea if Texans have the roster to make noise in the bracket, but they will have no excuses to not be in the dance.
the remaining schedule comes down to defending very good TEs: Warren, Kelce, McBride, Bowers. I am not confidant that is our defense's strength (pitre in coverage?). We did shut down Kittle pretty well though
That is a good point. Warren/Kelce are often used as hots/checkdowns when under pressure. But the Texans don't need to blitz, so it probably won't trigger hot route adjustments at the line. Will be an interesting match up for sure. I think McBride and Bowers can be doubled forcing Ari/LV to use other guys which they don't have.
As a Texans fan, it's a tough pill to swallow, but we have to face the reality that the offense might actually look worse with CJ under center than it did with Mills. That is a depressing and very real possibility we might be staring down.
I just want him to be Healthy and not get hurt again. I'd prefer the win, but not at the cost of a possible career threatening injury.
