He's improving and is definitely a player. But remember, this is essentially his rookie year in terms of playing time and most guys who play this number of minutes for the first time hit a wall at some point in the season. So, when that happens, recognize it for what it is. Don't think it's some massive regression.
Contrary to some of these people’s perception of me on here, I like Sheppard and can see Sheppard being a very good player with an important role. I just don’t like the fact that we are taking a risk developing a guy who’s playing in his first full year who barely played last year. He’s growing and contributing but his inexperience is part of what cost us games. It will be interesting to see where he’s at at the middle and end of the year. Hopefully he can fix or at least minimize these things before playoffs.
The Rockets - without someone massively breaking out - aren’t beating the Thunder. Which is why Sheppard needs to play heavy minutes. He also isn’t costing the Rockets games at this point.
Nobody is beating the Thunder at fulll capacity, and it is not even the team. I know Joker, Gordon, Braun, Watson, Jamal and Cam have an outsider shot.....but it is an outsider chance. Daigneault is crazy underrated ....still to this day, dude does the best Challenges.....and the best defensive coach.....Udoka is a puppy in comparison. Presti is drafting left and right and has a deal with the Devil (Silver) so to speak to dominate the league this decade.
Think about it, they got Chip Engelland to join just like that, and the Rockets have to make do with Ben Sullivan. If the Thunder have a great shooting stretch like the Rocket where most of the players are shooting close to 40%.... we are talking about 79-3.....and I am not joking. They are shooting bad and are still winning 94% of the games. They course correct with consistent shooters and take out a few of their streaky shooters.
Imagine if it was Soccer and you could field a 25-30 man roster. Dude would fill out that roster with the best and cheapest players.
Are you saying the Rockets can’t beat OKC without Sheppard? I don’t agree. I said before he has been part of the problem this team can’t beat top tier teams (detroit, okc, den). All the mistakes add up. Between his inexperience and poor defense, Amen’s sloppy passing and lack of touch around the rim, and KD/Sengun’s carelessness we lose these close games. The margin of error is small. We need any advantage we can get. Maybe the thinking here is we need to empower him and develop him at all costs and see what happens. Very interesting to see how they will use him in the playoffs
i dont get how it was solid. He was 2-9 FG and 1-5 from 3. Poor defense although he had couple steals. It wasn’t terrible because he did other things but by no means was the performance good.
He’s a little better than he was first few games especially in zone. He still doubles or leaves his man completely to gamble on a steal on another player’s assignment. He doubled Jokic for no apparent reason in the mid post when jokic was 15-17 ft away with sengun on him and left a wide open shooter to drain a 3. And yes he forces a lot of shots. Hopefully he learns from all this.
I dunno what game you watch to say Reed forces shots. The one thing we all wished he did more was shoot. He’s constantly making the right play and passing to corner shooters. Rarely do I even see him take shots. He played the same minutes as Aaron Holiday who took twice as many shots as he did… he was 6th on the team in attempts last night. He’s shooting 47% from three on the season I wish he’d force more shots up… the most shots he’s even put up in a game is 13, and that versus Denver when he scored 27 points on 13 shots by making 9 of them… That is insane efficiency…. If someone has been forcing shots this year it’s KD. Wish he’d pass more.
Having few Shot attempts doesn’t mean a player doesn’t force shots. He forces a great deal of shots that aren’t necessarily the best option. Simply go back to the games and watch them. Hopefully he learns
Yeah, that post was about you. Things a narcissist says. It’s funny reading what you type, you obviously know nothing about ball. And yes, we know
Again, things a narcissist says. You’re a nobody sweetheart. But keep up the ignorant posting. We get it, this is all you have.
I don’t get this. To say a team is invincible is silly to me. We should have beaten them first game of the season. Let’s not make them out to be some mythical team made of demigods.
Lol everyone on the team forces shots at some point. He happens to force the least. Watch the games yourself and tell me who takes bad shots and who’s actually making the right swing passes… why would you not want a 47% 3 point shooter to shoot more? What are you getting at?
