The Colts looked dam good yesterday, the 4th quarter play calling was horrific, you dont run your best back on the last few drives after he killed the Chiefs all day long..........that loss is on the HC
Notice how no one ever qualifies the defense's performance? They've faced Cooper Rush, Mac Jones, Cam Ward (x2), Trevor Lawrence (x2), and their performances are unassailable, generational... But if CJ succeeds against a bad team/back-ups - never mind it's indicative of him picking up the new system and getting better, more comfortable in it - the qualifiers come out in droves. It's telling their standards for Mills - a thoroughly mediocre QB who turned in 13 quarters of thoroughly mediocre QB play these past several weeks - magically lessen. He reads defenses better! He makes quicker decisions! Which is true!... as long as you ignore that the performance bears no evidence of any of that! If someone is advocating for Mills over Stroud in *any* capacity, they are unserious people that want your attention, and you should feel free to ignore them.
If the defense was giving up 45 points to every team that wasn't highly injured or literally the worst in the league, you'd have exactly those qualifiers in play. CJ has been dogshit this season... and that's why the only games the Texans offense even hit league average was against Tennessee, a broken Baltimore, and a broken SF. I'm sorry that you can't accept that.... for what I'm sure are totally valid reasons.
CJ has played like “dogshit” while putting up better numbers than Mills; significantly better when you remove Mills’ extreme outlier of a 4Q v Jags. Let that sink in… The guy they’ll tell you reads the defense better and processes quicker, but can’t actually translate that into better results… That’s the guy who can teach CJ Stroud a thing or 3…. Like I said: unserious people.
So 11 TD's in 8 games is better than 6 in 5? So 5 interceptions in 8 games is better than 1 in 5? The Texans won every game Mills started.... so by what standards are those not betters results? I get that you just want to defend your guy, but the performance just hasn't been there this season. Due to the difference in talent, CJ should blow Mills away... but instead the Texans did better with a mediocre game manager than with CJ this season. It's a sign he needs to step it up.... even if people like you will defend him no matter what for what I'm sure are completely valid football reasons and not dumb ****.
As always with that breed of person, look at what they accuse you of and you’ll understand how they think. They are the “adult” equivalent of one-year olds who can’t understand the idea of object permanence because they have not yet developed empathy, abstract thinking, or practical experience. The guy you are arguing with lacks all of the above, then layers on a narcissist complex. If they accuse you of basing your opinion on race, you can be certain of their motivation. You wouldn’t argue with an infant about whether the toy behind their chair still exists - don’t waste your time here either.
If you followed along with the conversation, and had a fully functional brain, you'd realize that's exactly what i just did, and why i said what I said. As usual, you show up in the middle of a conversation with no clue what is going on and embarrass yourself. At some point one would think you'd have enough pride to stop doing that... but here we are. In fact, this officially triggers my new policy when it comes to people like you, goodbye
Not defending anyone or taking a side in this. But, Hey Now was the person to bring up race in the debate between Mills and CJ.
Claiming the white QB is smarter than the Black QB, with literally zero on-field (or otherwise) evidence to support such a claim (other than WINZ!) is a racist trope pulled straight out of the 1970s. That’s when race was brought into this. They can hide behind whatever bullshit they want - it wasn’t subtle nor surprising, given the posters, one of whom is so dumb, he claimed 6 TDs in 5 games was better than 11 TDs in 8 games, and then had the audacity to claim the Black QB wasn’t smart enough to grasp the offense.
