Or she'll join The View. She'll eventually get cancelled, no doubt deservedly so, but for a short while it will be ratings gold.

You believe we are in an oligarchy (I actually agree) and you keep voting Republican?

Who do you think the Big Beautiful Bill (not Bill Clinton) helped at the expense of the 99%?

2 Billion was donated to the Harris campaign
1.45 Billion was donated to the Trump campaign

So exactly who do you think was donating to Harris?

Almost 40% Of Harris donations were from small donations. That's about 10% more than Trump's campaign. In terms of dollars she received more than twice the amount that Donald Trump did.

You're right: Trump mostly skips the corporations and goes straight to the finance and tech CEOs and then to the foreign dictators.

What? Was the argument that either candidate was 100% small donors?

If we are comparing two candidates, it's okay to compare which got more from small donors and which did not.

I assume guys like Joe Rogan and the rest of the podcast bros will eventually be doing their own MTG and jumping off the sinking ship that is MAGA

MTG was basically a MAGA jihadist and top notch stooge until she got on Trump’s bad side…1 week of beefing and feuding with the demented gramps was enough to have her fearing for her life and resigning from Congress

Who knows what her game is, but she is delaying her resignation long enough to qualify for retirement benefits, so there is that. There's also a possible revenge motive in that she reduces the narrow Republican House majority by one with several months needed to hold a special election and the winner would also need to run in November.

She's neither as smart as she thinks nor as dumb as she appears. It will be interesting in a "hey, look at that car wreck" kind of way.

i haven't come across a compelling argument for CU.

That said, political parties should be distinctively different from federal vs state. If money is donated, it should either stay in the state or go to federal elections. I view the Senate as federal and the House as state. As long as the current system exists, we will always be an oligarchy. That said, all Republics have been oligarchies. if you dont like it, move to china.

Here we go again with the lazy, unoriginal "if you don't like it, move to China." So silly.

In a republic, citizens choose their representatives through elections, and those representatives are accountable to voters. In an oligarchy, a small elite group holds power through wealth, family connections, or force, not through genuine democratic accountability. You demonstrate a lack of basic understanding.

What we have now is a republic trending toward oligarchy, and Citizens United is a major reason why. Guess who pushed for it?

Look at the current admin: it's stacked with billionaires making policy decisions. This is literally a small elite class running the executive. The POTUS is actively courting other billionaires and giving them favors in return for support. This concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a small elite is exactly why we're trending toward oligarchy.

This is recent, not how things have always been. But as usual, because it's happening under "your side," you dismiss it as if the system was always like this.
