It's a simple system, really: you bench CJ for the 1 quarter Mills is going to be good.

I noticed that as it was happening live. He clearly didn't want to destroy his knee.

Dumbass said switch Mills brain to Stroud

Mills had 1 great quarter against Jacksonville

He barely beat the worst team in Tennessee (same team CJ destroyed)

He had 1 great quarter against Buffalo (only 12 yards on offense in the 2nd half!!!)

    CJ would have beat Denver

It's almost like some of you just look at the box score and don't watch the games

Stroud at a career high 67% completion % this year as compared to 64% his rookie year.

But yes Bobby, please go on.

    Last 5 games

    Stroud
    125 rating Bal avg 90
    143 rating Ten avg 103
59 rating (Seattle game) Sea avg 84
    106 rating SanF avg 104
    85 rating(1Q) Den avg 78

    Davis Mills
    68 rating Den avg 78
    84 rating Jax avg 86
    91 rating Ten avg 103
    90 rating Buf avg 84

Bobby…. Davis under performed in 3 of 4 games compared to the rest of the league.

Stroud out performed in 4 of 5 games.

Keep up with your agenda big boy. You just talking to talk.

I get that your shtick is to mindlessly defend CJ no matter what... just like when you lied about his time to throw number, but what I'm talking about here is the accuracy of throws, not the completion percentage.

Clearly you are here desperately trying to push a false narrative and it's just not going to work.

You have been advocating for Davis Mills over CJ. I’m just defending the dumbassery you are displaying. I have been very vocal about CJ not playing up to par when he has. Davis has gotten the luxury of a better OL and still under performs.

I can’t help that you have a horribly bad take.

Oh, so you have reading comprehension problems then? That shouldn't cause you to lie.

You see it in the Alpi, Reed and Altuve threads, just in general some peeps are so warped in their own agendas because their prospect wasn't picked or other other motives.

A more defensive Bills team in 2024: Stroud 331 yards 97 rating.
Career playoff rating for seven: 100. Career Regular season rating 94.

Here are some Ratings past the age of 22 of two qbs that some kneel to, I'm not even going to write the Qbs names.
    Subject 1:

Age 24: 93 rating, no post season.
Age 25: 93 rating, no post season
Age 26: 94 rating, TBD on post season.

It's universally believed that passer rating is an ancient stat, which I agree because it can be manipulated by having to throw all the time because you're always trailing. However, The Texans rarely get themselves where Seven can cheat the stat. Games are always close. The only game was that 1st Colts game in 2023.

    Subject two as a passer:
    qb rating at 23: 85
    qb rating at 25: 92
    qb rating at 26 : 92.

subject two when facing pressure throughout his career, like real pressure when he takes 4 hits a game=
75 career rating. Dude gives you games with his ints. He was also the RB before Cook, so he did do more and has gotten past the divisional twice in his 6 year career. Did lose in the divisional 3 in a row.

Yet These guys are allowed to grow but Seven at age 24 with no pro bowlers on the O line or a running game can't.

It’s really weird and disturbing to me how people are suddenly placing blame on Stroud just to prop up Mills.

    2 things can be true:

C.J. Stroud, and the O-Line were starting to get hot before Stroud's injury.

Davis Mills played well behind an improved O-Line the past 3 games.

Why people use this as an opportunity to crap on Stroud is weird behavior.

The issue with Caley, for me, was always rooted in his lack of experience. That was a bad decision, and it’s likely why the Texans are 6-5 and not 7-4 or even 8-3. Not THE only reason - but a main one.

First-time coordinators are always going to take time. Hell, experienced coordinators with a new system takes time. And Caley has now worked 30% of his season without his QB1, making his job even harder.

But I’ve been very encouraged with him since the Ravens game. It looks like he’s gotten steadily better; the o-line has gotten much better. He hasn’t been perfect - but better. You can see the promise everyone talked about. I’m very excited to see him get 10 full days to bring Stroud back.

I’m starting to talk myself into this team having a legitimate shot to run the table.

People……… all due respect to Davis Mills…. He’s 77/130 (59%); 775 yards; 3/1 in the 13 quarters, minus the 4Q vs Jags. Those are mediocre numbers - It’s a 16-TD pace. That’s not winning QB play.

He played out of his mind for 15 minutes, barely beat a very bad Titans team and his defense turned in one of the greatest single-game performances of this decade. IOW, winning with Davis Mills requires either an inferior opponent (none left on our schedule) or historic outings, and that’s simply not sustainable.

Mills first or maybe second pass v Jax was an INT. He didn’t turn it over after that. That is the one elite thing you can say about him. Otherwise, he is a very mediocre QB.

We need to stop this bullshit with him & CJ. Yall think CJ is struggling, and he’s having a significantly better season than Mills.

The ONLY time CJ has looked competent this season was against the joke that is Tennessee, The Ravens missing half their team, and the Niners missing half their team. Other than that, he's been REALLY awful.

Now, I'm not saying Mills is a better QB, far from it in fact. Mills has nowhere near the talent CJ does, but he does more with his lack of talent than CJ does with his immense talent....and that's mostly due to the hollow void between CJ's ears.

The lesson CJ needs to learn from Mills is to get the ball out quickly and to take what the defense gives him. He needs to make decisions quickly, and not run into sacks trying to be a hero.

Mills has not caused the Texans to lose any games this season, CJ has.

THE ONLY TIME! he declares loudly, and then proceeds to list half of Stroud’s full games…

Taking his ONLY competent start(S) out (Ten, Bal, SF), Stroud’s numbers are still better than Mills; significantly better if you take the absurd outlier of a 4Q from the Jacksonville game out of Mills numbers.

Any “I’m just sayin’…” nonsense around Stroud v Mills is either driven by stupidity or attention-whoring. There is no other viable excuse to even entertain a discussion where Davis Mills provides *any* advantage over CJ Stroud.

CJ (and Caley) were starting to figure things out as evidenced by the Niner and Bronco games. Will be interesting to see how quickly CJ picks back up the feel for the new concepts including pre-snap motions. He'll have to fight/temper his desire to hit the big play by making the simple throws to keep the chains/drive moving. Brady took profits up and down the field before hitting a big play or two. That's what CJ needs to embrace in this play design/philosophy. Those Pats teams (pre-Dillon) were a nothing to write home about, but the offense was still effective because of Brady and the short passing game.
