I said he was shitty back when he was shitty. Now he has some confidence. The team deliberately tries to instill confidence. Playing nervous can be a killer at any level.
It's not really hard to identify good players. I was on the Sengun train, Amen train, and said Jalen needs to go all from their first season. Its not that I have some sort of skill, its just not hard to see the obvious. He is current form is the worst form he will ever be.

True. If you going to stick Sheppard in the corner and then not pass it to him there really isn't a reason for him to be in the game. Unless he gets the rebound and presses for quick transition Amen shouldn't be the one to start the action.

Agree 100%. Reed played great but I blame him for the loss as he totally choked on those two free throws. Looked like last year’s Reed. He’s only 20 so hopefully he’ll be in enough of those end game situations that making clutch free throws becomes a learned behavior. He should be shooting 90% free throws and not the same percentage as his threes (50+ %)
There is a difference in between gauging raw talent scouting high school level players and recognizing the talent already aggregated in front of you. The Rockets already did the work and I'm judging what I see in an NBA setting which scouts typically get a chance to do. As I said what I am doing isn't really a skill as much as it is opening my eyes to whats already placed in front of me. However if you want me to explain to you what I see then I can. When Reed first came into the league he rushed almost everything. His feet were rarely planted and more often than not he never got into his true shooting motion. He wasn't just missing them, he was doomed before his feet even left the ground for the shot. You could see his improvement trending up at the end of the year where he shot 53.6% from 3 in April. There are a thousand clues but this is already too long and most people wont read this.
