Oh shoot, I got so flustered by that one dribble he took. It changes everything. What do we even call that offensive move?

I think you're only disappointed because the media told you KD is a SG but they left out the part where Jabari will be guarding the SG/SF so that we can hide KD on slow footed wings (which are PF's most of the time). So really it's Jabari playing SG/SF and Durant is the PF.

He's guarding out of position. When you put it in context, he's exceeding expectations. I was expecting worse. It was obvious to me at least the we'd be in this situation. Jabari and KD ideally should both be guarding PF's.

Our defense is improving fast don't worry.

    It was obvious to you?

Excuse us while we roll our eyes at anything you say, considering your strike rate of being wrong to this point.

Durant has easily been a superior perimeter defender.

Teams routinely screen for Jabari. Shai, Cade, Bane, all wanted Jabari over Sengun and Durant, and at times over even Reed Sheppard.

Jabari stands hard as **** on his heels, he turns his hips very stiffly and his reaction times just aren't there. This is not new to this season, and it's not a secret to coaching staff and players across the league. I don't watch basketball media but I do appreciate the story lol.

Lol not only no, but Durant has maybe never in his life been better than Jabari is right now defensively. And Durant has been a decent defender since his Warriors days but he was atrocious on the Suns if you don't mind ignoring context.

I don't really care if teams have a go at him, it's not gone well for them. Our defense is good and we're winning at an elite rate while Jabari guards the second best wing every night. I'll take Cade iso on Jabari if that's their home run. Teams don't have a lot of good choices against us.

Of course Durant will look better, Amen and Jabari are guarding the two serious scoring threats every night. We're hiding Durant responsibly.

Jabari was guarding big 3's and 4's last season and he was excellent. He was elite at rebounding and shot blocking for his position. That's his natural spot.

I don't get why you expect a 6'11 PF to be good at guarding elite smaller wings. Do you know anyone doing that at this height? How are you so demanding of a player who is guarding out of position to cover for the team?

Personally I see a PF playing very good perimeter defense on SG's and SF's. Yes they'll get the best of him sometimes, that's on us for playing him out of position. He's improved at everything that's in his control.

Jabari doesn't have proper technique upfront, he opens his hips and lets the guard to the basket. It's a common mistake among bigs: they instinctively feel that if their hips are sideways they can run back with the guard and contest at the rim.

The proper defensive stance is always keep your hips square between the guard and the basket, so that they have to go around you. If they go by you, at least you have given the help D some milliseconds to react.

It's a matter of technique, it's not a matter of foot speed. Donovan Clingan, for example, is slower than Jabari, but he keeps proper stance up front. When the D schemes become more advanced, you can start opening up on purpose, to channel towards where you know the help is.. But for now Jabari has to improve on fundamentals.

Jabari is showing the versatility I can see a world where we dump Tari and have Jabari take his spot and then Alpi plays at PF full time.

Which account is this? I cannot comprehend the insecurity it takes to need to create multiple accounts just to have a self-reinforcing ‘dialogue’ to make your ridiculous opinions look more popular.

I think most people his size can defend in space better. I think both Sengun and KD, for example, have done better jobs, and they aren’t even dubbed “2-way players” for the most part.

When opponents pick Jabari out to screen for over Sengun and KD to ISO, it’s probably because they think Jabari is easier to score on.

While we agree to disagree, is it fair to say that your opinion regarding Sengun being a better wing defender than Bari is extreme? That if we polled GM's or even fans, like less than 1% would agree?

Not saying you care what they think. I'm just wondering if you realize how much of an extreme it is.

So you must think Amen is the favorite for DPOY or Sengun is an elite rim protector cause how else are we the 5th best defense?

I like Jabari I think he is good. He is unique he’s super tall great wingspan. Great effort. Unfortunately he’s not athletic, he doesn’t have good handles. And he’s being paid appropriately for it, if he did have those attributes we probably wouldn’t be able to afford him.

He should only post up. He should only shoot corner threes that’s what he’s good at. In fact, we should run plays for him in the post which I don’t know if we really do. And he should hunt those mismatches in the post on switches. That should be a core part of our offense.

Now, if you think he can create offense on his own, you’ve lost your mind. You must’ve missed watching the last game, where he nearly airball some type of weird running mid rain jumper when he got excited after getting in his desktop. And also at the end of the game, where he Took some other horrific floater and result in a fast break three on the guy he was supposed to be guarding.

His defense is good because of his length and his determination, not really because of his lateral quickness or jumping ability or strength.

None of this is new information. I’m sure every rockets coach knows this. If he could actually create any type of offense, you probably would’ve seen it when we were the worst team in the league for multiple years in a row. If that wasn’t already obvious. Also, he’d be turning down his extension and signing for 200 million somewhere else

I feel bad for Tari Eason. Imagine being better than Jabari at everything including the one skill that Jabari possesses(shooting) and not getting a contract you deserve because you weren't drafted 3rd.

lol imagine being this dumb. Eason was offered a ton of money, just not fully guaranteed because of how often Eason is in street clothes. How is it Bari’s fault that Tari can’t stay healthy?
