I wanted to gauge everyone's thoughts. I realize we likely rolled out the two big lineup due to the Cavs matchup, but the Amen / Durant/ Bari / Sengun / Adams lineup has been effective, especially on the defensive end. Also, the 9 man rotation because a little cleaner with Okogie coming off the bench.

    Amen / Holiday
    Durant / Sheppard
    Bari / Okogie
    Sengun
    Adams / Capela

The other two options are (1) keep Okogie in the starting lineup; or (2) start Sheppard.

    Thoughts?

I'm good with either Okogie or Sheppard starting.

Double big should only happen off the bench and against specific opposing lineups. It's a good tool to be able to pull out from time to time, but I don't think it works all that well against most starting lineups fielded by decent/good teams.

Correct. I think Okogie should start for now, but Reed should be getting 30 mins a game while Tari is out with the hope that he can develop a decent defense. At that time, his shooting prowess will outweigh the defensive shortcomings and we can experiment with Reed in the starting lineup. I hate how much time the double bigs are being played. It will not pay off in the long run.

The two big is situational and is 1-2 as a starting unit.

I think we should only use double big when the matchup permits it.

Just bored with it. Our win rate is the same with or without it so we're just indulging Udoka's fetish at this point while making life harder for everyone that needs to drive to the rim. It's a good little trick or gimmick to use when we need some spark from the bench but Ime is procrastinating on designing a real offense.

It absolutely won't work on the Nuggets or Thunder in the playoffs. Those are elite offensive coaches and we've seen how Steve Kerr keeps wiping the floor with Ime in the playoffs (even when Ime had the better team in BOS).

I'm hopeful we'll keep building on this offense. I'm sure we can stay #1 in offense while requiring way less friction and playoff level intensity. We have the talent for it.

As far as starting, Okogie has earned it as long as he's above 40% from 3 but ultimately we need a higher volume of 3's from that spot.

No. This has to be a game-to-game thing where (obviously) it won't be very often.
