    on top of that

Kash Patel Assigns FBI SWAT agents to Protect 26-Year-Old Girlfriend

those agents, who are typically charged with responding to high-risk situations in the Nashville area, would likely be
unable to respond in the event of a crisis.

The Democrats did the right thing, they know the Republicans caused the shut down and could have nuked the fillibuster, it isn't even an official rule which is why they ignored it putting in all those cabinet positions.

I do think that they also know that by opening the government, and people will start to suffer because of this BILLIONAIRE tax break and cuts across poor people and medicare and veterans programs to pay for it, the GOP will continue to lose support and by the midterms it will be a blue Tsunami, hell Trump probably won't survive the Epstein release now that the victims are actually speaking out, and he has been named as raping a 13 year old Katie Johnson - I doubt MAGA holds together.

The GOP wants Trump gone just as much as the Dems do, they want his destructive style out of the way, they want to be able to go against him, and this Epstein thing seems to be the lynch pin that did it.

Trump had to cave or see the embarrassment of the GOP jail breaking against him even though he has been strong arming everyone to stop the release for months....he knows he lost, everyone knows he lost.

People are fed up with his bullshit, his lying, his ignoring the common people, his ridiculous tariffs that are hurting people and him paying for the ballroom with all the contractors he gave HUGE government contracts too, it is one big grift and America has had enough.

This is all coming down, and it will fall in a hurry.

Oh they were right to shut it down. They won that battle, but basically put the war on hold for 2 months. They caved to the pressure of SNAP not being funded and the holidays coming around. They won't have either issue in January, but that means neither will Republicans.

It is an official rule, but the Senate majority makes the rules, so they can change them at any point and time they see fit.

No, they were wrong to shut it down.

If democrats wanted to extend the benefits, then do it the proper way. Don't hold the country hostage. That goes for the Republicans too or anyone who forces the government into a shut down.

I don't necessarily think the Dems were wrong to shut the government down, but I did think it was wrong to keep it shutdown further.

Through congress and legislation. Just like how the ACA came about in the first place.

And you think they were requesting an executive order?

They were doing it through Congress and attempting to pass legislation.

They were right to shut the government down (as has been everyone that ever shut the government down) but not for the reason they were doing it. The government should be shut down because the vast majority of the government exceeds its mandate. There should be no Medicare, SNAP, Social Security, Medicaid, WIC, etc. The federal government should be limited to the enumerated powers granted it in the Constitution. In 1929, federal government spending was less than 3% of GDP. The country was a major superpower that was the most important ally in World War I and was the largest and most important economy in the world. Then we overreacted to the stock market crash and ****ed everything up under FDR. Even in 1948, coming out of WWII, the feds spent around 10% of GDP (triple what it was in 1929, but less than half of what it is now). Now the government spends more than 22% of GDP (but at least down from 30% in 2020). We (and by we I mean net tax payers) are all being robbed.

Didn't something significant happen in 1929?
I think it demonstrated how horrible the country was set up?

your position is that it MUST pass, as if its a requirement or entitlement built into the constitution. It was intentionally set to require legislation to extend, and if it couldn't pass, then that piece goes bye bye. That is how our government is setup.

So why do they not want to vote on the Legislation? Why does the Senate Majority Leader & Speaker of the House have so much power?

But they refused to vote on the legislation. But the funding of the government, which also requires legislation, they voted on over and over without enough votes, but wouldn't bring up the other 1 time. Why is that?
