A GM reportedly trying to tank their free agent's value over medical concerns, and their fans gloating about it, is pretty classless. DFS played pretty well for them and caused no drama while there. If you don't want to re-sign him then move on. This would be like Rockets fans gloating over Suns fans about Jalen Green's hamstring injury, which I certainly hope no one is doing.

1st off, there’s no major frustration about DFS…he barely gets talked about, and he’s a middling role player at best

You are just stirring the pot like a troll here. Rest assured Pelinka wasn't trying to help out other teams by warning them of a DFS knee injury - that was solely in the Laker's best interest. Ime also mentioned roughly a week ago that DFS is getting non contact work in and that they are ramping up activities to see how his ankle responds to increased load. Is it later than we were expecting? Yes. Do we have a clear timeline? Not yet necessarily...but it is the type of update/progress you would expect on a guy recovering from offseason ankle surgery.

I don't listen to Lakers or GSW fans because most of them aren't very knowledgeable, having spent so many years heavily benefiting from the league moving heaven and earth to put a thumb on the scale in their favor.

I wonder what the owner of the Knicks did to anger the league office at some point. They're the biggest market team and yet no one is maneuvering to gift them with generational talents in exchange for busted fading stars. They actually had to build their current team the hard way.

My point was the only reason for Pelinka to plant doubts about DFS would be to make it more difficult for him to leave the Lakers. He was not "warning" anybody.
