When was the last time a qb missed 3 games for a concussion? (Not counting tua). Didn’t mean it to sound cruel but man we need him for this Buffalo game.
After watching what Sean Payton has done with the Broncos has me rethinking my thought of not wanting him here when we hired Demeco...........I am glad we got Demeco but I have to admit, Sean Payton is a hell of a Coach................you have to think we he could do with CJ
I agree, I was hoping he was OK and was studying for the Bills game for the past week but sounds like with almost no live practices this week, it would be a stretch to ask him to play Thursday after missing 2 games. I love me some Money Mills but we really need that extra gear CJ gives us but looks like that will not be the case..................3 weeks? Not sure I remember any QB besides Tua who needed that long but it is a brain injury, so I am trying not to be a jerk but dam CJ, we kind a need ya
The post I was referencing said he was a top 4 QB. That’s what I was responding to. Saying he isn’t a top 4 QB isn’t being too critical.
That’s where we disagree. He has shown he can be a good QB, but he hasn’t shown he has the ability to carry a team. I genuinely hope he does show that.
I realize that. My post had nothing to do with him being a top 4 QB though. It had to do with you claiming the only reason he won 2 playoff games was because of the defense, that’s patently absurd. You called his performance against the Browns “solid.” Right. Saying he’s not a top 4 QB is not being too critical, that’s correct. But you framing your argument as if that’s the only thing you said, or acting like that’s what I’m calling out, is a straw man. You keep deflecting to top 4 QB nonsense, that’s a conversation between you and someone else brother.
Yea, obviously, all of us want what is best for CJs health but it is frustrating that basically no other star QB has been out 3 weeks for a concussion before that I can recall [other than Tua who is different]. A lot don't even miss a game iirc... 1 game.. ok makes sense... 2 games... that's pretty uncommon.... 3 games... wtf.
It's 3 games because of the short week. Pitre is out, also. There is a chance, but they both have to practice tomorrow.
You quoted me on a post about another post with extreme hyperbolic take. The Browns game was good, really good. But since then he hasn’t had a good game in the playoffs. You can say the Chargers game was good, i don’t. The defense gave the offense ample opportunities and scored for them. The defense 100% won that game
Even with a short week most [if any] QBs are not missing 3 games with a concussion... other than Tua but his situation is different.
He's (likely) missing three games, not three weeks. The game being on Thursday is disruptive. It makes clearing the protocol more difficult and even if he were cleared in time to play, he has not practiced or game-planned since the injury. I'm not sure he'll play, even if he's cleared. We'll see.
All this because CJ slid late against Denver, he didn't even get the 1st down which is another insult to injury. Without CJ being reckless, we beat Denver and are 6-4 right now. Smh man, this season sucks. We get zero luck.
The Texans are keeping him out. This is a practice thing. He has not practiced in 2 weeks and this week is short. They want to give him 10 days for the upcoming Colts and Chiefs games.
The Texans DO NOT CONTROL the concussion protocol. They only control what the players do AFTER they have cleared steps in the protocol. They cannot practice those players before they pass the portion of the protocol which permits practice. THIS IS WHY the protocol was developed. It takes the options away from the TEAMS because they have the incentive to bring them back too soon. Are you contending that those players have been cleared to practice?
No, what I am saying is the Texans are not allowing him to go thru the steps to get cleared. You don't want your opponents to know that. Watch, Stroud will be cleared Friday or Saturday.
I disagree, but it appears you think he's been cleared to practice and the Texans aren't allowing him to practice and complete the protocol. I don't think he's even been cleared to practice. With the blackout of information from the NFL, we are both guessing. The worst part is that when he does practice, we won't know when he was cleared to practice, just that he was at some point. The other thing we're quibbling about is the difference between cleared to practice (which is just one step in the protocol) and clearing protocol. (which requires either two practices or simulations of practice (depending on who's insider information you choose to believe)
