Seems like this season is the best shot for a ring. Next year OKC will get Clippers pick (SMH) and possibly add Cameron boozer or another top 3 pick in the 2026 draft where everyone is saying Cooper would only go 4-6.
Also, they have the Jazz pick, which would be 11th right now, as well as Philly's and Houston's pick. Not to mention Topic may come back, which would make 3 lottery picks. They can't add 5 players next year? They will hold tight to the Clippers and Jazz pick, but I assume the Philly and Houston pick could be had for cheap.
Why will they give up stuff for cheap? Some desperate GM like Joe Dumars prob give them 3 future unprotected picks for those. The PG trade should go down as the worst trade in NBA history by far. People keep saying Luka - AD but at least Mavs got something for Luka. Clippers just gave 5 unprotected picks and a future mvp for nothing, they got the privilege of paying Pandemic P the max and then he left..
I thought I just explained my reasoning. I think it's unlikely they retain all 4 picks, especially if Topic comes back. The best they can hope for is to trade their picks for more future picks, or start trading the players in their current rotation for picks, which I think is less unlikely.
There are several players who won't return for them in 2026, headlined by iHart and Dort whose team options will be declined. There are several others they can easily trade. Topic and Sorber, who are both out for 2025, should fill a couple of the open slots.
One area Rockets need to work on how to get KD the ball in the clutch, he's only 3rd on usage% during clutch minutes.
that sucks. I don’t think spurs have another player with gravity of a superstar. I think you can play fox one on one. best bet is that they will hustle and move the ball around as much.
It's gonna be rough for them because their entire identity is built around Victor. One positive in their favor is Dylan Harper might be returning soon.
Interesting to see Giannis go down with a groin strain. If he misses 4 to 6 weeks the Bucks' season could be over. Maybe he could be had for a package built around Fred, Amen, DFS, Capela, and every draft pick we have? PGs: Sheppard / Holiday WINGs: Durant / Smith / Okogie / Tate PFs: Antetokounmpo / Eason / Green C: Sengun / Adams
Because the next game isn't until 3 days later. When the schedule tightens up, I expect KD's per game mins to decrease.
No offense but I HATE these kind of trades. It shortens the window of the team from 10+ years to 2-4 years. If some of those picks are top 10 you could draft them. If not you could use them to replace Durant after he retires with another star. Every time you trade for someone with that many minutes it increases your risk profile exponentially. Not only do you have to get through the playoffs hoping Durant survives you need both to survive. You keep Amen Jabari Sengun Sheppard. Someone like Edwards Haliburton Cunningham will become available in 3-4 years you trade the assets for a situation like that.
