I mean, I'm not against it at all but still... Mack never could win the "big game", both with Carolina against FSU and with Texas against OU, until he did. Then he left and it took over a decade and multiple coaches to get back to that level.
Sark is just not a detail guy, he is a "Wanna be a star" guy, he is completely reliant on great coordinators. The Defensive coordinator of Texas is MEH - zone defense is like giving away yards and points. DD
This team is so undisciplined. They've committed killer penalties all season. Hopefully we can beat A&M and come back stronger next year.
Not sure if the stat I just looked up includes today or not (or is even accurate), but UT is 129th of 136 FBS teams in penalties per game, averaging 8.1 Absolutely infuriatingly ****ingly disgusting https://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/stat/penalties-per-game
It is my understanding that coaching and even recruiting take a backseat to managing the boosters and culture of the 40 acres. For all the resources available, recruiting success and an insane desire to win there is probably a reason the program has only won a single national title in football in over 50 years.
If Blake Gideon doesn't drop that endzone pick vs Tech and Colt doesn't get killed early in the 1Q against Bama they could/should have won 2 more. Totally agree on the role outside forces affect the program, but isn't that the case with every big time school?
Nope, not even VY winning the Heisman over Reggie Bush. Possibly the most media-hype-driven award voting in history. And no, I don't still think about it.
The rule should change where the Heisman is determined after the season; not before the national championship game. Anyhoo everyone knew VY was the MVP that year.
Another fun? thing to think about: if the Texans don't have the #1 pick in the next draft and VY wasn't sure they'd draft him, he stays in school for 1 more year.
Does any sport take the postseason/playoffs into consideration when giving out awards? I know the NBA and MLB don't. Not saying you're wrong.
No idea. Post season is equally important when you have more than one elite athlete that deserves the award. Stakes are higher so the clutch factor should be a consideration. At least Hakeem embarrassed David Robinson.
Worst idea the Spurs ever had was giving Robinson that trophy while Hakeem was watching from the sideline. Series was over before it even started. I will quite literally never get tired of watching highlights of that matchup: "Honestly, I thought I played pretty good defense." -- Robinson, after Game Whichever
Hard to argue against that. What makes things worse is that Sark’s teams look completely lost and unprepared going into these matchups more often than not.
