The funny thing about this guy is, if his height and weight are legit, he's basically what Shaq was coming into the NBA in terms of size. But he doesn't play like Shaq. He seems a bit awkward and doesn't try to bulldoze people like a Shaq or throw people through the hoop like Shaq. He tends to overpower people in the paint, but in high school, most of the guys he's playing against look like PeeWee League players next to him. I think college defenses can scheme against his plodding moves in the paint, not to mention, the players guarding him are going to be bigger, faster, more athletic, etc. Should be interesting to see what an uptick in talent level playing against him does to his game. Right now, he's just a man playing among dwarves for the most part.
A lot of people are looking at Travis Branham's prediction on 247. He's usually been right with his predictions (not 100%, of course). He came out with a prediction a few days ago that he thought Diane ending up in Houston was high. Don't blame me if he's wrong - I'm just the messenger. Along with Holt and Diane, another guy that would be a pretty decent get in this recruiting class that I keep seeing rumblings about would be Ikenna Alozie (a small combo guard) :
I am not that familiar with Auburn's players this year but I do remember Pettiford. He gave us fits. I am cautiously optimistic that this time around Uzan and Flemings will lock him down. Their leading scorer this year Keyshawn Hall, transfer from UCF and Broome replacement, is averaging 24 pts and 11 rebs per game. We only played UCF once last year and held him to 6 points. If Tugler can stay out of foul trouble I am confident about this match up as well. This game is a major test for us and anything can happen especially this early in the season. Verdict we win by 10.
I'm headed to watch him today since this is the closest matchup I can see other than when I come back to town for visits with the family. Fully expecting to see this team locked in early against a better competition opponent. I'm guessing I'll be one of about a handful making this trip in red and white. Should be fun, Go Coogs!
So far this reminds me of the Florida game. should be winning comfortably but missing lots of bunnies.
A real concern is how much of a downgrade we have at backup center Ja'vier Francis runs circles around Sakho
Freshmen 33 returning starters 6. Kingston Flemings is a dawg. That's all I have to say about that. Need some help from Sharp and Milos. They are both ice cold.
I don't know if it's coming through on the TV but the fans in here are all loud for Auburn. It is very hostile in here. Kingstons is for real. Sharp and Uzan need to get better shots.
