Tari played a dangerous game and is losing. (Who will come back first, Damaged Finney-Smith, Tari sEason-to-sEason, or…Jalen Green) More Jae’Sean Tate? “Udoka said guard Aaron Holiday and Jae’Sean Tate will fill Eason’s minutes.”
The timing sucks since DFS is also likely 4-6 weeks away(if not longer). The only upside to Tari getting hurt now instead of later is that there's a bit of a break in mid-December because of the Cup tournament. So even if he's out the full 6 weeks, he'd miss around 18 games which is manageable. My hope is it's no worse than 5 weeks and he's back for that game at Denver on 12/20. This is honestly the reason the Rockets were hesitant to go all in on the guy this past summer. He hasn't had a fully healthy year since he was a rookie. Tari is a guy you probably can't count on to play more than 2/3 of any given NBA season.
The rumor is that it was 5 years 110 million but it wasn't completely guaranteed for injury and Tari's people wanted it fully guaranteed.
No team is gonna guarantee him 9 figures given his injury history. At least not after this latest setback. He needed to get through this season without anything major happening and that just went out the window.
I knew the "it's just a bruise" diagnosis was too good to be true. This franchise habitually downplays injuries to the media at first. The way Tari walked off the court, he was obviously in a lot of pain
Whats the max you'd be comfortable giving him from the Rockets perspective? I hope we can get for like a 4/70 type deal
I'd be fine with 20-22 mil a season for 4 years with the last being a team option. I want him to remain a Rocket, but I view him like I do with Steven Adams. Someone who I'm pricing in as only playing roughly 60 games a year.
this is not a downplay IMO. they told us what happened after he was revaluated the very next day. Personally i think they should OVERPLAY and say Tari died when he walked off the court and tell us sike he's alive.
There's no timetable for his return. I would assume if he were a couple weeks away, the team would say so. At this point, I'd be surprised if he suits up before 2026.
We see Tari differently, and that’s aces. I believe his skill set is difficult to define and therefore difficult to replicate. It’s like he should do the Allstate mayhem commercials.
