Agree, his shot is pure like Price's. He's still got a little way to go as a playmaker, but his evolving defensive impact will surpass Mark's.
after being the #1 victim of steph curry for the past decade + i do find it very uplifting that we could have our own game-bending shooter as part of our organization
I mean we have NEVER seen something like this on the Rockets, been a fan since 1972, and this is unique, and wonderful. DD
I don't have that long a history, but it really looks like this is the case since Rudy T got the coaching job.
What’s the point of comparing Jalen Green 5th season stat with Reed Sheppard’s essentially rookie season stats, and what’s the point even if it’s for the same season, given they are drastically different players? Sorry I don’t get the point. This is not a post to trash Jalen Green in any sense and I frankly don’t have any clue why he is involved in this discussion.
I don’t really care about Green or making the comparison, I wasn’t the first to bring it up. I will be watching Jalen’s career, because I want him to suck while on the Suns through 27 at least. I hope Cooper Flagg sucks until 2030 for the same reason. I think it will be interesting to see how he plays in a better spaced offense than we had last year as I thought FVV would have been a better trade match than Jalen. I think Reed is a better fit for this team than Jalen. I think FVV is a worst fit than Jalen or Reed. We won’t really ever know.
Hater Bros were banging on comparisons of 1st year Jalen vs 1st year Sheppard, what was most laughable was that they were using Jalen's starter minutes against Reed's bench minutes and saying how much of a scrub he was. Now we are only in the beginning of 2nd year and Reed is already blowing out Jalen's metrics in most areas, it'll be interesting to compare year end metrics though since it is still a small sample size. Any Rockets fan would have given Reed the same amount of time to prove his worth like what was given to Jalen, I hope Reed continues to develop and show his potential. Like I was saying, his first year he lacked confidence and was getting inconsistent minutes, it's amazing what a bit of confidence and consistent minutes has done for him. You can see a lot of hesitation he had in first year is starting to fade. Hes more confident taking the shot, and he is looking to actively shoot. I still don’t think he’s PG but maybe if he can keep developing his handles we will have ourselves a Steph curry v2.0. I see him more as a 6th man atm, SG who provides sparks off the bench. Still needs a lot of work on the defensive end but he is hustling and that’s a good sign
REPORTED for over zealous integrity! We can't have people take responsibility for their actions on CF. By the way, you have to admire the creativity someone put into these forms--well done!
He needs to be able to create his own shot off the dribble in order to be a star. So far, he attempts these soft layups that have no chance of going in. He seems to struggle finishing strong at the rim for a player with a 42 inch vertical.
Ime talking about Reed on the Matt Thomas show: "Offensively, we want him to take those shots, make the right plays, and be a backup point guard for us."
Because if you look at any other kind of comparison except year 5 vs year 1ish, it becomes laughable comparison just how much better Reed is compared to Jalen. Jalen fans aren't exactly known for keeping the goalposts in the same spot for longer than a post or two at a time.
