Reed is better looking. And the Rockets team colors suit our players way better than whatever monstrosity they have over there in Utah

I hope we don't jinx this dude and he keeps getting better, and we get some of that Kentucky guard magic.
Reed is the highest drafted Kentucky guard since John Wall (MKG was listed as Forward).
Since Wall, these guards were all drafted lower than Reed:
    Shai G-Alexander
    TyMaxey
    Devin Booker
    D'Aron Fox
    Tyler Herro
    Jamal Murray
    Emmanuel Quickly
    •••

ALL of them were doubted or were considered average at best. I remember most of this board would not trade Jalen effing Green for Maxey early on, and now he is in the MVP conversation. They just keep working and getting better...

Basketball really involves 2 units, though we don't think it that way: Starters vs Starters & Bench vs Bench.

Bench vs Bench plus/minus counts the exact same as starters plus/minus. Don't treat the 2nd unit as "inferior failed starters", when that can be a team's advantage. Example, a 6th man that can elevate the 2nd unit with +6 more, can be better than blending with starters with +1 more.

Players like Tari might be pissed with not starting lol. But his role is magnified destroying other 2nd units, instead of being an even swap or marginally improvement with another starter. No need to rush in Reed as a starter if he's affecting the final score better off the bench, and getting development in. And if he's not a clear cut upgrade on what the starters are doing

Stockton "The Pasty Gangster", he was of course a brilliant HOF player, yet he was a total piece of **** on the court.

I don't ever want any Rocket to play that dirty. Not sure I'd respect them if they did.

Never liked proper dirty players, may have been good at other things but I'd still hate 'em

Wanted to love the Pistons back in the day, but like everyone else Laimbeer was so easy to hate.

eta: the absolute worst is the guy who slips his foot underneath the jumpshooter while he's in the air.

Bruce Bowen was the best/worst at that. He's got a special place in hell.

    This is fun:

If you did it with Jalen’s one game this season, not sure Reed would win the stat war. I’m not pulling for Jalen, because of the picks but I think if he gets healthy he will be much better in a wide open offense and more spacing. I think Reed is a better fit for our team, but career wise I think Jalen will end up really good and will bring more to the table. Reed’s shooting is super elite and he will get lots of steals, but overall Jalen will probably outplay him at the other aspects of the game as long as he is on a team with good spacing.

Not going to D&D it up, so I'll just say Stockton is one of those conspiracy guys who "does his own research" and then gets pissy about it when others call BS on him. Also, he was banned from Gonzaga games and tried to sue (with RFK, Jr.) Washington State health officials.
