The Rockets will be soooooo good when Amen can go back to what he was doing with Reed starting. It's a matter of time. Reed Amen KD Jabari Sengun
Reed's shooting gravity and his ability to be both a smart decision maker/willing passer completely changes the construct of the court for the Rockets. Even Jabari does this but Reed is just a completely different level. You have KD + Sengun 2 man game, Amen in the dunkers spot and Jabari and Reed....literally wherever. It's so different when you have shooters that can hit from the top of the circle vs the sideline 3. Or you could have Amen/Sengun two man game absolutely blitzing the hell out of the rim with KD/Reed/Jabari pulling everyone out.
You’re always wrong about Reed. Now he is legit rising star and you look like an even bigger idiot. Time to take the L and STFU about Reed
I've been saying the same thing. Only thing we Rockets fans needed was patience. He is finally starting to show his worth of why we drafted him 3rd in the draft.
What I also love about Reed, and it’s worth reminding folks… he had the highest vertical jump recorded at the NBA Draft Combine in his draft class at 42”. The dude is athletic. That’s why we see those come from behind blocks. He can get up there on the defensive side too.
So when does he start averaging 25 points 8 assists and 5 rebounds with 3 stocks per game on 68% TS%?
My only issue with Reed is his FT shooting. Will he be the first player in NBA history with a 50/50/50 shooting split? lol, I think he will turn that around soon but it is strange such a pure shooter is having issues at the charity stripe.
He looks soooo much better in the last game He’s not having trouble getting guys the ball, he’s making confident decisions with the ball in his hands. Defense much improved. Though he does some wierd stuff in pick and roll defense still. You already know he’s going to shoot well so his scoring isn’t as impressive as the other stuff. He will be fine, glad he’s getting major burn, he needs reps has already improved by miles in just a few games.
I am pretty confident that he will at least be an 85% free throw shooter. I would like to see him get to the line more though.
Yeah - he is potentially the full package as a shooter. He has a quick release. He has the ability to shoot well on a high volume of shoots. He has range well beyond the three point line. He can shoot off a screen or pass - but he also can put the ball on the floor an pull up. He can shoot off balanced.
Right. I get the folks who were pining for Castle. The people taking shots at Reed while hyping up Carter, Edey, and Knecht as these huge missed opportunities were more ridiculous.
First it was the Smith injury opening up things for Amen last year, now it's the FVV injury opening up things for Reed. ... One has to wonder if we have any other gems hidden behind Ime on our bench, heh. But I think the rest of our high potential young'ns have all seen time by now.
He won't get to the line more until he is muscular enough to bump off guys. It may not ever happen because of his diminutive size. It is not a requirement that he get to free throw line to be an effective PG or SG as long as he can get in the lane and convert at a decent level or pass out. He is progressing at breaking down his man, which I wasn't sure he was going to be able to do. He still has work to do, but he is learning fast.
He should tell Jabari the same. These two dribble unnecessarily way too often. They've gotten better recently though.
