Did the Mavs ownership end up with a generational prospect with less than 1% odds of doing so?

Which is why he'll laugh all the way to the Bank. This trade was a NBA classic make LA relevant deal and NIco did as told. The Mavs got a future with Flagg & Nico will get out of town for his own good. But I bet he leaves with Big bucks and we'll see him again somewhere else in the league.

I never said the mavs ownership did not know of this. They obviously did know. And gave it the green light.

Yea not that bad of a trade for the Mavs point of view, considering you get a cost-controlled very likely to be superstar in Flagg vs. paying a supermax to Luka (personally I would still take Luka, but can't fault the Mavs since they knew they were getting handed the no. 1 pick).

And obviously it is corrupt and rigged and I don't agree with it. But it's better to realize that it is corrupt and rigged than to be obnoxious and ignorant and think the NBA is not corrupt and rigged.

I never said they are more likely to win a championship with Flagg than Luka lol. You need to stop making hyperbole of people's words and twist it into the extreme.

Mavs expected to collaborate with Anthony Davis' camp to determine whether to pursue trade
    Nov. 12, 2025, 11:17 PM

It's believed the Mavericks will work with Davis' camp over the next two-plus months as they decide whether to pursue an in-season trade. Davis' agent Rich Paul and Mavericks owner Patrick Dumont have established a relationship that features regular contact since they were introduced at the Mavericks' Play-In Tournament victory in Sacramento in April. The parties are thus expected to work in concert to some degree on next steps.

His contract has to be viewed as underwater, right? The Mavs would likely need to package Christie and the Lakers FRP just to move his contract for expiring contracts. I don't see Mavs doing that. I think Mavs would need to take a bad contract actually to get something for AD.
