Funny how everyone was so down on Sheppard after the OKC game....but at least he did better in that one than Steph did against OKC last night....Yikes.
I know a lot of people liked Devin Carter. I wonder if those people wouldve been more patient with an older player who hasnt shown as much as Reed has. He'll be 24 before this season is over and he can barely get on the floor for a bad Kings team. And when he has played (when hes even healthy enough to suit up) he hasnt done much. They went out and got Westbrook instead of playing him. He was supposed to be a great rebounder for a guard and thats the ONLY thing he's done better than Reed (who some have called a bust) up to this point ... And hes just barely ahead of him in that category. And Im not even saying Carter isnt going to eventually figure it out. Im just saying Reed is a full two years younger. Let him cook.
I know it's a small sample size still, 9 games and 48 attempts, but that generational shooting ability is starting to show with 48% shooting from 3 and 56% from the long middie... If he's got that, I'm far less worried about everything else.
If you look at his last 25 games for a bigger sample size he's 45/97 from three for 46%. He's looking like his Kentucky self again.
It's about time it did tbh, he was looking near unplayable when he was shooting badly. If he can sustain even 40% across the season then he won't be a wasted pick and will actually have the skill we drafted him for.
This just shows you have never really watched Ryno. Both Ryno and Sheppard are below average defenders. Both kind of lack the main traits for their position, Ryno in terms of rebounding as a PF, and Sheppard in terms of playmaking as a PG. Both have more self creation than their "white guy who shoots" stereotype would suggest. The fact that you can only see both players as "white guys who shoot" is actually quite ironic given what you are accusing me of.

They have weaknesses yet Sheppard seems to have shown he can score the middy....... Ryno was a semi beast in Orlando playing with Dwight, Houston version not so much.
That was roslolian, the most rabid anti Reed basher on CF. I hope someone looks up that post. It was last season, I think when he posted that. I wonder why he's quiet recently. Oh, well, I hope he is fine since there was a super typhoon that just hit the Philippines.
