It turns out the Republicans were right though. They didn't really need to give anything to the Democrats, they just had to wait for them to agree to what the Republicans wanted. Its really disgusting. I have a female cousin in the air force whos been enlisted for over 8 years and she told me the morale is at rock bottom with her female colleagues. The worst part is she told sexual assaults nd sexual harassment have skyrocketed cuz they've gutted the reporting system. I dont understand why any female would wanna join the military. They got something small, but really, they looked weak not being able to keep the shutdown going. They needed to make the Republicans fold and they didn't accomplish this.
Despite that, the 8 Dems got the GOP, who controls all 3 branches of Gov, to change their original position. it is more than nothing.
