Thats dumb...they're probably going after players like Jerami Grant, Trey Murphy, or even Kuminga who are wings that can make plays and switch 1-4 on defense

Huge no to Kyrie. Keep that dumbass off this team.

He's also averaged just 45 games played the past six seasons by the way.

Well yeah, but FVV has right of refusal.

Yeah I would refuse if I was Fred. Only way is if the NBA stepped in like the Luka situation but the league doesn't need Kyrie in Houston.

Honestly I’d probably do it. Not sure where Tari stands and if he is committed here long term or if he is preferring to bail in the summer for more money and a starting role. I think Derrick White puts us over the top.

Dennis would actually fit nicely here. And he plays passionate and is not scared in the playoffs. I wouldn’t be totally opposed to Schroder. Not sure how much he’s making so as long as we’re not giving up anything crazy he could help us out in the playoffs.

Only player I really would like the Rockets looking at is Quinten Grimes.

Replace Reed with a salary filler. If we are going just from FVV to Kyrie I think it’d be a solid move. Especially given that Kyrie is actually expected to play this year.

2 years ago I would have agreed with you. I hated Kyrie with a passion since he seemed like a huge diva and distraction. But he’s actually been super solid in Dallas on and off the court. Zero issues and his teammates seem to love him. If that’s the Kyrie we are getting I have zero issues with it. The basketball fit with our guys would be sweet and he’s a top notch shooter and clutch.

Yeah I’ve thought this was the most obvious choice for Houston. Young player on a team full of young guards and they couldn’t workout a contract.

The German National team thinks he has redeeming qualities but yeah that ship has sailed and he was here before.

Grimes is cool but barring a trade for SGA and Alperen shooting like Joker, I doubt the Rockets can beat Denver or OKC.....

Onto the next season with Grimes.

How much would you give for a rental? His contract makes him virtually un-signable. I too think he would be the best option as far as fit.

I wouldn't give up a lot for him - maybe a lottery protected pick if they get him early enough.

His contract situation is a mess, but he is a very good player at this point that can play both sides of the court and has become a good shooter.

I don't know why anybody is interested in a 33 year old Kyrie coming off of a torn ACL. There is no guarantee he ever again resembles the player that he was. And as mentioned previously in this thread, he's averaged 45 games played over the last 6 seasons even before he was 33 coming off of an ACL tear. He is the single biggest reason that Nets team failed/imploded. I do not want his wacky antisemitic ass anywhere near our team. Chemistry is important - and this team has great chemistry right now. If you're bringing in somebody, it needs to be a known great teammate. Not a wackadoo conspiracy theorist that puts his controversial opinions before his team every single time he gets the opportunity to do so.

You don't think they have enough guard depth with Fox, Castle, Harper and Vassell? That might be the deepest guard rotation in the league.

I've been thinking a lot about Grimes and how well he would fit. Replacing Okogie with him in the rotation (and I do like Okogie so far) would be a significant upgrade. I am not sure how extending/re-signing Grimes would function in our situation though, in terms of how much we can offer him and the likelihood of losing him to another team, if we were to trade for him during this season. @BimaThug I guess with that one

Quality guard depth. That team can't shoot and Kyrie by himself has more skill than those guys combined. I think if I'm Dallas though I'm not taking back anything that doesn't include Harper. I wouldnt take Castle as some sort of centerpiece. Maybe Castle + Atlanta Pick + 3 1sts or something but even then I'd probably rather other options. If there was a team in the league I'd short right now it's the Spurs. They havent played anybody except us and it took a Tony Brothers effort to give them the W.

Even tonight they get to play the Warriors on the second night of a b2b where they got roasted by the Thunder. Though maybe the Warriors figured SAS would be the easier game and decided not to go too hard yesterday.

Trading anything of value for a Grimes rental would be insane.

I love shooting for the stars but I would realistically look at only the PGs/SGs that make under around $15 million. FVV will not be traded this season.
