There is no one I can think of that would improve this team without sacrificing a great deal of depth. I would stand pat, watch the buyout market at the deadline. I think as Reed becomes more comfortable, the need for this will become a lot less. Alpi has also taken a huge leap in running the offense. I also love the idea of Harden being the floor general on this team. He still has elite vision and can set up guys on this team to be at their best. I think he would thrive in that role and relish in it. He’s carried the burden in LA for a few years now, being their entire engine when he expected to have a lot more help on that team. There is zero chance he is bought out or traded. But I could see him opting out after this season and coming home to chase a ring.
I dont think it's a zero chance. Let them lose like 15 of 18 games or something and anything could happen at that point.
The problem with trading for Harden at this point is you have to figure out how to match his salary, which means FVV needs to be in the deal, which means you're likely paying extra in terms of draft capital and such to get the Clippers to take on his bad contract. At that point I'm not sure it's worth it? I also think it becomes much harder to field a plus defense with both Harden and KD on the floor. Although, the offense would be pretty ridiculous. Jury is still out for me on whether we need to trade for a PG at all. If we do, I think I'd rather look at guys like Tre Jones, Jose Alvarado, etc. Players who can potentially be had a much lower cost and won't necessarily demand to start.
Don't test my boy !!!! Trolling is the lowest form of intellect, it is measured on a scale henceforth named the McHale scale....for obvious reasons. Don't go full McHale - EVER ! DD
I love Harden, but he would again slow up the offense and choke in the playoffs. He is a bad fit for our team and we can’t afford him. James will never play for peanuts and Amen is command the max, Sengun and Jabari are already close to 30m a year and when the need to extend comes around at least Sengun will demand a true max. We will see on Jabari, Tari, and Reed. We might even be able to afford Tari next year, much less Harden.
The idea of committing to Kyrie for the rest of this year, plus two more...at 40/yr...then what we'd likely give up. Sure FVV would be in there, but then Reed or picks (including Dallas 2029)...No.
