    Houston’s police union is calling on NYPD officers unhappy with new NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani to move to Texas, citing higher pay and strong support for police.

    HOUSTON — The Houston Police Officers’ Union is openly recruiting New York City police officers following the election of Zohran Mamdani as mayor of New York.

    In a social-media post, the union asked:

    “NYPD, are you disgusted with the election of Zohran Mamdani? Join us!”

    The post urges New York officers to consider joining the Houston Police Department, promoting Texas as a more supportive environment for law enforcement. It highlights a recently approved 36.5 percent pay raise over five years, a “supportive mayor and city council,” and a police chief described as “a retired Texas Ranger, not a politician.”

    The union also pointed to benefits such as affordable housing, affordable insurance, and a DROP retirement program available to all officers.

    Love it -- Texas should grant asylum to these persecuted NYPD officers. Get the good ones. NY clearly is not respecting the hard work of these NYPD officers. Takes NY down another notch and helps the state of Texas reduce crime. Capitalize on NY's Mamdani mistake.

    you would think Mamdani just won the presidency or some sh*t

    LOL. Texas recruiting cops while blue states are recruiting academic talent from Texas universities. Let's see which approach fares better in the long-run.

    These are the same guys (Houston Police Union) that threw a tantrum and were so shocked and outraged that the DA investigated Gerald Goines, much less at the sheer temerity of charging him. He couldnt possibly be dirty! Even implying otherwise is spitting in the face of cops everywhere!

    Any cops they peel away will be NYC's gain and Houston's loss. They'll get the losers who are upset that the police actually have to follow the law. And given former police officer and former Mayor Adams as the architype, I assume they'll all be corrupt as hell.
