I could definitely see James Harden being mentioned in a buyout especially if the Clippers keep this losing up. Lol
I've seen so many ludicrous (in my opinion) trade proposals. These people floating these Derrick White for FVV, Tari, picks etc. I'm sorry, but dude is older and is a career 15 and 5 guy. That's way overpaying (not that the money works either). I do like Grimes - not really a PG, but would love to have his presence on this squad, and he's a hometown kid. Tough player, good shooter. I'd trade some assets for him (but not Amen-Sengun-Jabari-Reed). Let Reed continue to grow into his role... not sure I'd be willing to give up much more than some lower bench pieces and picks to bring in more players, at this point.
Holiday would have to want that role as well, and unless something has changed in the past month, he was not happy at all being in Portland. He was demanding out immediately after the trade. They will have Lillard be that vet presence for them next year.
I’d love to have Harden on this team but I don’t see the Clippers buying him out. He’s potentially got value as a trade asset at the deadline or in the offseason if he opts in. Ballmer also doesn’t give a crap about saving a few million and it’s unlikely they’ll be completely out of the play in. Plus OKC gets their pick so no incentive to tank and if anything they aren’t going to want to look bad turning over a top pick to build OKC into an even bigger juggernaut.
Coming from an ACL tear that he probably won't be on the court until March and has a player option for next year for 42 million. I would not do that deal.
Take out DFS and throw in filler contracts and I'd do that deal. His contract is $36MM this year, $39MM next year, and then he has a player option in 27-28 just like KD. FVV is coming off the same injury so I'd rather get Kyrie a year earlier if the cost is only $11MM and $14MM this year and next.
Love Harden...but I don't think he fits on this Rockets team. Alpi and Amen's touches would diminish. Pace would slow down and Harden does not play well off the ball... Rockets definitely need a floor general...but I don't think its Harden. I like Scottie Pippen Jr, Jrue Holiday, hell maybe even CP3 off the bench.
Harden is one of the best floor generals in the league. He has adapted his style everywhere he has played. Maxey and Embid flourished with him and got plenty of touches. Same with LA.
It is, and I will put you in forum jail - where you can only see the D&D and post there - this is your one and only warning.... YOU, are on the LIST....the LIST !!!! DD
