Wow, is this some kind of bizarre Vince Gilligan off-the-way version of The Truman Show? That's what I got from that trailer. Regardless, his track record is superb so I'll definitely be giving this a shot.
I hate TV series honestly. The problem with them is they have to manufacturer things to keep it going. And nothing is ever going to top 24. Imo. I like movies way more. Not as much pointless character building.
Imagine commenting this in the thread of a tv show creator (one of the very rare ones) that does the opposite of that. movies nowadays are straight trash. the story telling in a good series >>>> move outside of LOTR, etc
I agree with you. Hollywood movies are terrible for the most part. That's why I don't watch Hollywood movies. I watch foreign films. Gotcha

I absolutely loved it. Looking forward to the rest of the season, but I am a sucker... Spoiler for end-of-the-world science fiction. It was serious enough for some drama, not serious enough that it is a hyper-masculine prepper fantasy, like shows of this genre are often reduced to. I love that the "bad guys" aren't clearly pure evil. That's a nice ambiguous dynamic. There was some nice visually interesting camera work and really well done creepy moments. I have yet to see a show on Apple TV, like it or not, where it feels like the producers were mailing it it. I hate Apple people™® but I love Apple TV, as much as it galling to me that I do. Spoiler Its like a low-key chill Invasion of the Body Snatchers where the body snatchers are very nice, considerate people.
I found it boring. Characters were not well written. Spoiler the idea that the other six humans would have no problem with their loved ones losing their personality and becoming zombies with no free will, was absurd and uninteresting.
apple tv really kills i with scifi shows. they just let scifi shows run in the background too. *** a nielsen rating.
