Jalen got benched so much there are youtube thumbnails with Jalen and benched with arrows pointing to jalen green. Suns coach took Jalen out for regular rest. you dont have to lie to make a point and im a jalen green apologist.
He would get benched when Udoka first got here but once they had that bond Udoka would let Jalen do w/e he wanted. Those benchings happened in 2023 they were pretty rare last year. Sure Ott benched Jalen for rest but it also when when he started doing his fadeawat stepbacks B2B early in the shot clock. His mins were so arbitrary 22:58? If they were benching him for rest it would usually be an even no.
Jalen is a good kid. He's just somebody who can't get you a bucket in the clutch like KD. I wish him the best, but what I saw from him in his first game was all of the same things from last year. A lot of 3s, drives, and no midrange. Well maybe 1. He's still enamored by the 3 ball. He should take the time and learn how to score at all 3 levels. That's what we have now in KD a go to that scorer at all 3 levels. Best of luck to him though.
I'm happy for him that he had a good debut game but at the same time, this is the Jalen experience. His really good game is 10-20FG. You can EASILY see his next 2 games be like 5-18 or 3-8 with 3, 4 TO. He has to shoot well (and even that is 10 for 20) to have an impact. He is still very young and still continue to get better (while KD will decline eventually) but this is so on brand with the Jalen I know. Now, from Rockets org standpoint, obviously hope team sucks and we get a high draft pick

Jalen Green had space, open shots, layups, etc and still will give you 12 points...he'll give you some 30pt games, but come on man he was streaky as a girl on her period
Jalen had a great game, but he has always had great games here and there. I would not be surprised if the Suns are calling Memphis trying to trade Jalen for Ja.
Yeah nothing crazy for Jalen to turn out a good game like this, the question has always been can he do it more often than not, and the answer so far has been no. We'll see if he finds a way to change that but not holding my breath right now
KD had an awful game against the spurs which probably means Jalen will have a great game against the clippers again. im rooting against jalen so rockets dont end up looking like they chose wrong.
When this trade was made I started bracing myself for JG to use this trade to push him into a SUPERSTAR. His scoring will be better with Phoenix and he will have a lot of highlight dunks etc…. I really think we panicked. We traded a 22 year old with tons of untapped talent who hasn’t reached his prime yet for KD and I get it, KD is KD. I personally would’ve offered Brooks, FVV, and #10 and 4 second round picks…..
im on record saying i would have waited for Jalen Green. i know that dude was playing trash hoops, but would have loved all the children to rise together. sengun, jalen, bari, tari, amen, reed, and cam. Hard to root for KD when he plays like complete ass after he was a literal terrorist on GSW. makes me ****ing sick.
