And if this doesn’t work, which odds are it won’t. We traded a 23 year old for a 37 year old. Jalen Green is never going to be anything close to Durant but I just kinda wanted us to run it back. Hope I’m just pissy about this loss and end up being way wrong.
We had a 5 game winning streak....bottom line is i don't think Rockets players could look themselves in the mirror and be happy with what they were tonight. The loss is hard to stomach because we got OUTWORKED....pure and simple. Adjustments ? Where were they ? There were none. Reed was a positive...so,there's that. But, any way you spin it, it was a very poor performance. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
i feel like capela would have grabbed some of rebound that spurs got. adams can barely jump these days. he's good to push people around but he hardly gets off the floor to get rebounds.
KD had 1 rebound and 8 TO.... and couldn't really defend anyone....Yikes What happened to Jabari? Was he injured? Our rebounding was horrible!
He shouldn’t have been expected to - not at his age and at his mileage. No one at his age really is going to be night to night carrying teams. He can be a massive help - the gravity he demands gets open shots for guys and he can shoot… but Amen and Sengun are going to need to carry the team a lot of nights. The question is whether they are going to do it. Sheppard and Smith improving as threats will go a long way too. Someone like Chris Paul would help a lot for when Amen and Sengun aren’t leading.
I'm actually pretty curious about Fox...I wonder if he's going to be the benefit he is on paper because those guys play hard and seamless and then he has to come in there and figure it out with Wemby. I feel like he might get in the way of Castle and Harper too. But I hope we get DFS back soon.
It's crazy how the sperms scrubs punchable face players are shooting 100% forms 3 off offensive rebounding? We don't look like the best team in rebounding in the NBA at all and ugh the bad gambling tari Eason showed up stupid fouls over and back violation. IME gotta learn and call timeout when opposing teams are on 12-0 run Unhappy rant over ruined my day, just put a hole on the wall.
You lose your one of, if not your highest score from last yr and a player who was under appreciated in Brooks and it disrupts your identity. We went from defensive and winning on the boards to high scoring. We're different
I believe Ime and Stone want KD to carry the team. If not, we don't need to trade Brooks+Jalen+10th pick for KD. It doesn't make sense.
In a meeting, and missed the game, but sounds like the Rockets weren't on top of their game. Lots of turnovers. Smith was a no show, and KD turned it over 8 times?! Reed had an impressive box score. I will look at the highlights and see if I can "get the picture" of what happened. Just one game in a long, long season.
Spurs wanted it more than we did. Spurs out played and out coached us this game. Too many hero and sloppy passes, we cannot afford turning the ball over that much. Our zone was weird, at times it looked like the baseline guys were playing man and it opened up huge holes. Did we block out anyone? Can't remember seeing us do it, but Johnson sure did. KD has to take care of the ball better. Sengun needs to lockin, he's like thr stock market with peaks and valleys throughout the game. Not sure what was up with Amen. Bari hopefully learned a lesson, you're still earning it every night, you haven't arrived yet young man. Tari looks good one minute and goes totally bonehead the next. Josh O is playing great and as usual left it all on the court. Reed gave us a glimpse of the future tonight. Alright guys lets watch the film and get ready for the next one.
I believe that trade was made in response to what went down last season when their lack of outside shooting was exposed and exploited. Durant was to be a bandaid for that as they (Rox) did not address their weakness at the guard position especially after the loss of FVV. They will struggle with teams that can light it up from the outside.
My early concern is the Durant turnovers. He’s trying to force ISO’s and gets sloppy with the rock. I’d like to see more c&s or 1 dribble shots. I called it before the game, but the Spurs had shoot OUT OF THEIR MINDS from 3 to win this one, and we had off nights from several. Reed looked good other than getting lost a couple of times in the 4th. I’m sure he’ll hear it from mom.
This is one of those games that you needed FVV to calm everyone the F' down with 2 minutes to go in the 2nd qtr. That escalated quickly or maybe call a timeout. The Durant turnovers were overkill. I'm not saying they were his fault. They have to find a way to make his life easier. The Durant and Alpi PnR makes the Jalen Green and Alpi pnR look like Stockton and Malone. For some reason I thought the game was in Vegas. How did all these Spurs fans get here? lol Really loved this game for Reed. Outplayed sandcastle. First time I've seen Sengun frustrated at his teammates for not securing the boards down 3 after some superb defense. Things I didn't like besides the loss and T.Os, *Sengun shooting 6 threes. 4 too many. *Outscored by 12 points on long rebounds. That's game right there. All that work to get the miss. * A potential highlight sequence that started the collapse > Beautiful pass from Amen to Sengun who no looked over the shoulder to CC who just stood there with the ball. *72% for Barnes
Some positives to take out of the loss. Sheppard looked really good in his 26 minutes. +/- 8, highest on the team tonight. The starting squad lost their composure and never really got it back. SA played out of their minds tonight. There’s no way they keep up that intensity over a 7 game series and no way we play like **** like we did tonight consistently over a 7 game series. And we held Wemby to a modest stat line and only a +/- 5, which is normally the key to beating this team. I think we’re the better team. It’s like I posted last week- every decent team is going to bring their A game to us.
