so for 4 years he was front running loser being led by Alpi and his teammates and a no show in the playoffs is not enough proof that he cannot lead or can't be the 2nd best player on a successfull playoffs team? all this "phonix gonna be playoffs ocnternder with green" is based on 1 game against 3-5 clippers without their 2 best players while Jalen was guarded by 35 year old bradley beal?
like this JOFs easily fooled with 1 game against a 3-5 team without 2 of their best players being matched up by a washed up guard as if 4 years and 6 of 7 playoffs games is not enough
Come on, not again... I couldn't careeless about how Jalen palyed...he is not a Rockets anymore why should I care about him? If he plays well, it's good for the suns. If he ends up being an all-star, it's good for him. No matter what happens, I won't regret trading him. I've had enough of the four years when he was with us. When a team trades its own 2# pick after four years of development, you should know what is enough.
I have come to terms with people pro or contra Green .....and that is a never ending discussion until he retires or is washed..... Now lfgo ....
In 3 years Durant will be retiring and Jalen will be hitting his prime as a super star... I think it's not Phoenix betting everything on Jalen but The Rockets betting everything on Sengun, Amen and Jabari... Luckily I think Amen will be a hall of famer, if not then trading Jalen was a big a mistake.... Only a chip will make it worth it...
Very true, Green didn’t mesh with this team. Alpi, Jabari, Amen play Ime’s type of game; and it’s exciting basketball plus it’s highly effective too. Green wants to run like a gazelle and simply outscore his opponent (makes for spectacular highlights and head turning moments). Though you have to give credit to Green for slowing down and trying to play within Ime’s system. Green was even playing defense when he played with the Rockets. But Green is not an Ime type player, that was very apparent. It seemed that Green had a leash on him, and though he made the best of the situation, on the Rockets team he was just a bit above average. Seems that Reed Sheppard is the type of guy the Ime believes can blossom into his style of running mate for Amen. And to me that bodes well for the future of the team. With Devin Booker as his running mate, I think Green will be a much better player; something he could not accomplish here. Perhaps a Steve Francis /Cuttiono Mobley led team ceiling. In the modern NBA, it’s not just about high flying acts, but efficiency. Seems the Suns will have some exciting basketball to keep them entertained.
True, but part of the reason I think Green will be good for the Suns is because he made some major strides in his 3 point shot last season IMO. He averaged almost .36 from 3 on over 8 3pa a game. There are maybe a dozen guys in the league who shoot .36 or better on that kind of volume, and a lot of Green's shots were contested last year, whereas Booker's gravity will likely give Green more open looks from 3.
This encapsulates my thoughts perfectly. There are win-win trades in the NBA, and this could very well be one of them. The Rockets had four young, valuable players (Sengun, Amen, Bari, Green) that didn't quite mesh well, so they kept the three that fit perfectly and flipped the one who didn't fit for a star that also fits next to the three. And the guy we flipped went to a team that is perhaps a much better fit for his skillset. This isn't a perfect example, but I think the Giddey/Caruso trade is turning out to be a win/win. I don't think OKC wins the championship without Caruso, and I don't think Giddey becomes what he is becoming in OKC.
The logical chasm between "Jalen Green is terrible, awful, irredeemable" and "Cam Whitmore is a diamond in the rough who needs baby handling and time" is brain-breaking.
worst part of trading Jalen green is dude is 23 and people gonna watch every game a report back until the end of time. i need amen, sengun, bari, tari and reed to turn into hall of famers to combat the jalen and cam watchers
"Hitting prime as a superstar"... Four long years he was teasing us with few great games followed by reverting to being spineless chucker. And yet again after a single good game in Phoenix people see great things in him. He is never going to be a superstar. Mentally weak do not become superstars. No matter the talent.
