Maybe trading Jalen was good for Jalen and also good for the Rockets. Everyone wins!

Simply my opinion, Jalen’s and Alpi’s games didn’t go together. Which sucks, because I really liked both of them.

Alpi clogs up the lane for Jalen’s style of game. It was very apparent that year when Alpi went down, that Jalen’s production went near MVP in appearance.

Alpi, Amen, Jabari all compliment each other very well. And Kevin Durant also plays exactly how the team needed Jalen to play.

I would not be surprised if Jalen becomes a perennial all-star, now that he is on a team like the Suns that do not have draft pick reinforcements for the foreseeable future. That is one team that can invest heavily into getting Green to shine the only way he can.

And if Green does indeed shine like an all-star, the once very valuable Phoenix Suns draft picks become a lot less valuable. And that isn’t good for the Rockets who still hold those picks.

You know, it takes a lot to forgive his lack of professionalism/commitment to work on his body and game..not having his priorities in order..as well as his cowardly final act...
Plus, we have a vested interest in seeing him and the Suns fail.

    C'mon, I'm a Houston Rockets fan...

So until we no longer hold those picks...
I wish him the best in his personal life, but the worst on the court.

Yeah, actively cheering for Jalen hurts the Rockets as long as he is with the Suns and we have their picks, but we all know some of our posters are Jalen first fans, then the Rockets.

Jalen Green still sucks. If only one game signified how good a player would be. I don't really care, but why did he sit out 8 games already? He played almost every game as a Rocket, unfortunately, and now has played 11% of Phx's games? Having his shots distributed to Sengun, Amen, Jabari, and Tari already makes us a better team. Add in KD and the difference is vast.

Aren't we a lot more fun to watch this year than last year? Some is Fred's absence, some is KD, but I think for me a lot of it is no Jalen. We pass the ball more and take better shots. And we don't have to see if Jalen is hitting shots or bricking them. There's a reason we were lauded for having the best trade last year.

It doesn't matter that I don't like Jalen, what does matter is what Plowman said. I was going to post something similar but he beat me to it. As a Rockets fan, you have to root for the Suns to be bad because we have their picks. And those picks being bad are very valuable to the Rockets.

Jalen "shining" means averaging more than 20 shots a game and being last among starters in BPM and Net Rating

not sure why it won't be good for the picks that the Rockets are holding

Its not about being a Rocket's fan or a Jalen fan, its about being RIGHT! As the saying goes " What goes around, comes around". You wishing bad on others and bad it comes back on you.

If a team knows how to draft, a team can find stars later in the draft; Sengun, Giannas, Jimmy Butler, Gilbert Arenas are just a few. My ONLY concern with the Stone and Ime is, they don't draft all that well and Ime doesn't have patience with young players.....so, do we really want draft picks?

Nothing you nor I do will change what happens with Jalen. The fact is - I'll say it - I think the Suns are going to be better than we hoped. I think Jalen is going to thrive in a #2 guard role. I think the combo of Book - Jalen - Williams makes a lot of sense, and they have some good supplemental pieces in Allen, O'Neale, Richards, etc. I mean, I don't think they will be great, but they'll probably be play-in quality or so.

The fact is, we made our big move with Durant. We also have a fantastic young core. Our future draft capital is the gravy on top, but the Suns winning a few more games than expected because Jalen is doing well isn't going to keep me up at night.

I don't hate Jalen. But I'm not going to wish him well on the Suns. Nothing personal. Just need the Suns to sucks so we get a good pick.

If he's traded to another team that's irrelevant to us, I'll wish him well then.

I appreciate this very reasonable opinion.

I watched the Suns/Clippers game this morning because I wanted to see how Jalen and the Suns look. They're fun to watch. The Clippers were without Kawhi and Harden but the Suns had them down 25 mid-way through the 4th. The Suns have really good ball movement and spacing and Jalen Will get more catch and shoot opportunities there. Grayson Allen is a better player than I realized and can take it to the rim and finish in addition to the elite 3-point shooting.

    They pl

Phoenix has no choice but bet the farm on Jalen Green and Devin Booker. There is no reinforcement coming (they have traded away their first round picks into the 2030’s). As it is they struck gold with the 10th pick (Duke center) as most mock drafts had him going 8th or better; i honestly didn’t see a single mock draft where he fell to 10th.

If Jalen Green reaches his potential, Phoenix will be a playoff team sooner rather than later. And if they are a playoff team the value of the Rockets pick owed by they Phoenix goes from lottery to high teens low 20’s pick. Jalen learned to play defense under Ime, and if Phoenix releases the harness on his offensive game; he may explode like SGA did with OKC.

But if Alpi, Amen, and Jabari become a juggernaut with and after Durant, well the Rockets will be sitting very nicely either way!

Is this the new trend? After everyone was the franchise player, now everyone is the legend?

He was hitting his threes. He always had a good game for us when he hits his 3’s. If he gets consistently good at 3’s, he has all-star potential. That’s a big if. As far as the Suns go, they were playing a Clip team without Harden or Leonard. I wouldn’t read too much into this victory, although I think they won’t be as bad as we hope, maybe a 10 seed play-in team. SA and Portland are going to be better than they are with health. That only leaves Dallas, Sac, Pels, and maybe Memphis as worse.
