It had to be done we don't have money to pay him, KD, Sengun, Amen and the rest of the team. JG also isnt the best fit with Amen and Sengun they need a specialized 3nD cuz JG having free reign to chuck shots and create from half court like KD does isn't the best.

That is what the Rockets envisioned....him playing 25 minutes per game (like a bench player) But him attempting less 3s..... finding ways to get to the rim more.... his FT attempts should be close to 12.
I like JG as a number 2. Unfortunately we needed him to be our number 1 and he isn’t that. The KD trade was a win for both teams, never felt that we fleeced the Suns tbh.
Like Maori said, you have to find the next KD, not the existing KD......then you are set for the future.
Would’ve been way harder to make salaries match. Suns weren’t looking to add FVV they wanted one of the young pieces like JG or Jabari. It’s debatable, but I’m glad we picked Jabari.
People forgot how terrible he played in the Playoffs. If Jalen played even average, he is probably still here. The issue is that Jalen got completely exposed in the Playoffs.
