. " He is one of the best shooters in the league. We're going to need his shooting and ball handling. And we're not going to scheme around him to hide him. We switched him on Morant. Every day is a learning experience for him." -Ime-
Reed is a liability at times. He has a good block and steal rate. The idea is by the end of the year he's going to be much better. His draft profile references him being a good defender at the next level. We saw what Ime did with Jalen. Give him time to coach up Reed.
Castle on the court is useless. He can't run an offense. He can't shoot. He's not a great defender based on modern metrics despite playing with Victor. Castle is JAG
That was the lunch time interview, right? Certainly encouraging to see Ime behind him... we know how important discipline and defense is to him.
Holiday has better handles and he pass better than Reed. Actually he's more consistent shooting than Reed too and I think he deserves more PT. However, Im curious what do you see in Reed that gives you the impression that he is going to be a starter or a star level player? Im not being condescending, I just want to know, because when Cam Spencer came off the bench for Memphis and scored 19pts in 19 mins, nothing gave me the impression that he was going to be a star! And he looks better than Reed does to me.
Castle is a starter on a 5-2 Spurs team Reed is bench player on a 5-2 Rockets fighting to stay ahead of Holiday in rotation
Not at all. In this same interview slot, a year ago, he said: " We've taken Cam aside and told him we don't play one on one defense here." Did the same with Green. "We keep talking to him about making the pocket pass." He never gives coach speak on the MT show. Caserio and Ryans that's always coach speak.
Although I have a suspicion that there is significant overlap between the groups, what's more embarrassing, Jalen Green fanbois who pretend to be Rockets fans, or Stephon Castle fanbois who pretend to be Rockets fans?
And Castle was a starter on a terrible Spurs team last year that got them a top 5 pick. So comparing 7 games this year to an entire season last is silly.
Especially when you consider that both seasons his team was considerably worse with him on the court than off the court. That's especially true this far this season
What evidence do you even have that Holiday does either of those things better? Especially the passing claim. Im genuinely curious.
