His appearance with Elektra et al in "DP and Wolverine" made me wish Deadpool had asked, "So you guys just hang out here all day wearing the same stupid outfits?"
Doom is not just Iron Man it's also Dr. Strange mixed in. Basically, a scientific and mystical double threat.
Yep, look up his powers. He is basically Iron Man genius level tech mixed with mystical powers almost to the level of Dr. Strange, taking Stark's ego to the next level. I hope Marvel does him justice.
I got you. I thought you were saying this Dr. Doom would be some weird amalgamation of Iron Man and Dr. Strange. In the comics he’s an S tier sorcerer and steals most of his tech. In fact, he’s currently the Sorcerer Supreme and has taken over the Earth (again).
I can see the confusion. Was surprised you didn't know based on your reply but I can see nothing gets past our resident Marvel expert once again.
I think this is AI slop. The giveaway is the suit in two areas. Why have it in a drawer and a chest? However, it’s based on the real leaked cam trailer that’s floating around and almost shot for shot.
Lol, you have to virtually watch Fire and Ash 3-4 times to watch all the scenes. And every 1-2 weeks.
I have superhero fatigue all I wanted was a Blade movie, but they couldn’t even give me that I think the last MCU project I’ve seen was that Ant-Man movie with Kang when it came out
I have mediocre superhero fatigue. Disney killed the golden goose during the pandemic with it's endless string of every-worsening shows to prop up Disney+ subscription numbers. Too may chefs in the kitchen when there should just be Feige. Nothing is exciting anymore. There's no legit build to the next big conflict. It could have been with Kang but unfortunately Majors is a drama queen who loves drama queens and it killed his career. There's more of a fatigue to huge universe building now. Godzilla x Kong is working because you see a movie every 2-3 years, not 2-3 movies a year. I don't know. I should be sad but I'm more just meh.
I have some fatigue as well. Maybe I've finally hit an age where these movies phase me less; I was a comic book nerd as a kid. But the multiverse is that two-edged sword. You can open many possibilities with it. Too many. Still, the quality of the movies has gone downhill, overall. I did like The Fantastic Four: First Steps; the guy playing Ben Grimm "The Thing" must have put in a good performance if it came through the CGI. I wonder if there's any tie-in at all with RDJ playing Doctor Doom and Iron Man (maybe I'm still a nerd, after all; if nothing else, my memory is intact). Or if Marvel was desperate enough to sell tickets again with RDJ. I mean, I'll see it, to be sure. If the critics take a giant s*** on it (that would be a giant miss), I'll wait until it's on streaming. I think the critics will certainly say, How many characters can you stuff into these movies? Even Wolverine and Deadpool might appear (although Hugh Jackman is trying to play coy).
I went from looking forward to and watching everything Marvel put out to “maybe I’ll watch this if I’m on a long flight, but probably not” I still remember how crazy the theater was for Infinity War and Endgame…it was like an event the spark just isn’t there anymore with RDJ and Chris Evans returning in this one, I will say that if there’s any MCU movie I might watch for the 1st time in forever, it would probably be this one just out of curiosity although I’d be so out of the loop I’d have no clue what’s going on
This is probably their last chance to save the MCU. The entirety of "Phase 4" was complete dogshit outside of Spiderman. "Phase 5" was complete dogshit outside of Deadpool vs Wolverine "Phase 6" started out with a box office disappointment that very likely lost money and received mixed reviews. They need Doomsday to be an unambiguous success both at the box office and among fans or the MCU could be coming to an end. Studios can't afford to keep losing money movie after movie...even Disney has to make money at some point or they'll have to tighten the purse strings. Phase 5 alone potentially lost Disney a billion dollars.
Quite frankly, I think the biggest slam dunk Marvel could have done with casting is Tom Cruise as Doom. I'm sure the story angle of RDJ turning into Doom in another universe is probably OK, but there was already blowback when they announced it. Still, I'll be there, because the Russos are the gold standard in being able to direct an amazing MCU action movie.
