I think Amen got roped into a few extra shots. End of quarter heaves, that one before the half where it looked like he just misread a play for Tari. Broken plays, etc.

I’ll take this game from Amen. He’s either making a play for someone or finishing it for someone. Dudes legit.

He was getting mugged and no calls. If he was still a Warrior or a Laker he would have gotten 10+ last night

For the Rockets to blow out a somewhat respectable team on the road in a game where KD struggles(plus no Steven or DFS) shows how great this team could be.

Durant's gotta be loving being on a team where he not only doesn't have to dominate every night, but where the game can be won comfortably even when he shoots poorly.

Both of them are significantly better and stronger than Reed, i'm not sure the point you're making?

More and more we are seeing teams make the decision to grab and try and control Durant, leaving Amen 1 on 1 with a smaller guard in front. Amen needs to be decisive and selfish and tear into that defense. He doesn't even need a screen to get to the rim and get the other team in foul trouble all by himself (or stop at the FT line for easy looks). That forceful play will draw help that opens up the floor for Sengun and Jabari.

KD's shooting was atrocious the last couple of games and we won both of them and neither were all that close. And yes, they were bad teams, but most nights Durant is not going to shoot around 30% from the field no matter who we're playing against.

I think this team is for real y'all.

The grizzlies announcers were saying that Amen looks like Zion out there. Super athletic and unstoppable on drives.

I made it a point to watch his body language all night and he really seems to be having a blast playing on this team. Even when he's not shooting well.

The chemistry on this team is as good as I've seen it since the championship years.

It's early, but Reed is sort of looking like he'll develop into an absolute flamethrower off the bench. I agree that I'm not that confident he'll develop into a starting point guard unless he get significantly better on defense.

I feel like he's going to be one of those guys you want to check into the game and take almost every shot for a few minutes while the other guys coast a bit.

Poor Jock. He went from the Rockets to the Grizzlies. And it doesn’t even look like a Memphis has barbers.

You guys are living in the past. You don’t need one guy to initiate the offense and get everybody in their sets. We have two guys in Amen and Sengun that are initiating the offense quite well and they haven’t even settled into their new roles. Okogie is a better defender than FVV and Amen is all-world on that end of the court. We may have a few more turnovers this year, but we are so much more balanced on offense. Amen is able to get to the hoop and finish unlike the entire backcourt last year. Jabari is being included in the offense, after being froze out by FVV and Jalen last year.

Durant did have a bad shooting night but he was getting swarmed and probably fouled. He was finding people open though

I agree. The only complaint I have on Amen so far is passing up so many shots in the lane. He will go to the line 7-10 times a game if he just gets a little more selfish about scoring. I made this point in another thread. If he takes those shots, defenses will have to collapse on him which will make his passes out to the 3 point more effective. It’s all a part of him adjusting to that particular role which is new to him.
