Look if it bothers you so much feel free to block me. I dont prevent others from glaizing Reed so if you think I'm just hating and it is affecting your mental just block me and be done with it. I dont think Reed is up and coming I have lost all faith in him. If I had power in the org he would be 3rd in my depth chart behind Holiday and JD. He reminds me a lot of Ryan Anderson who I also got in so many arguments for "hating" on that dude when history just exposed me for being correct. Reed hasnt shown to me has that special quality which will allow him to transcend his physical limitations. If you wanna argue he can be a guy like a Payton Pritchard or TJ Mcconnell with time sure. But neither of those guys are worth a top 3 pick IMO.
Ryan Anderson came and gave us 14 points on 11 shots and 40% shooting from 3. Plus bad defense. We went 55-27. We used him less the following season and his efficiently dipped a bit so we dumped him. What were your expectations exactly? Who were we able to acquire at Ryno's salary that was going to make us better than 55-27? Our over/under was 44 wins at the start of that season. We crushed expectations. Sometimes you gotta take the W even if it didn't work out the way you expected.
Not sure if you remember but Anderson had that career year in NOP scoring 17/6 as a 6th man and people were expecting him to be the white Dirk now that he will be a starter and play next to Harden. The max then was 25M, we paid him 18M so I def expected more than 13 pts. He did average 40% but it was such low volume and extremely inconsistent. In the playoffs he got completely exposed but before that a lot of people back then were calling me crazy for hating on the dude shooting 40% from 3 just like now. Rox crushing expectations were due to Harden and Gordon, not Anderson. Again it is similar now people are praising Reed when he isnt the one contributing to wins. Whatever, no matter what happens I dont think we will get value out of our top 3 pick so I'll continue to complain about it.
At what point do you read every other post responding to you all saying the same thing (obvious bias, shifting the goalposts, repetitive comments, selective data, etc.) and think ‘perhaps everyone else might be right instead of me?’ Either do the analysis properly - get his career splits vs above-average vs below-average teams and compare those to the career splits of other second year players (all of whom play better against bad teams), or move this whole discussion to the ‘eye test only’ thread.
55%TS Plus 1.4 bpm 42% 3pt% on 5 3pa per game 18/5/5 with 2+ stocks per 36 You can wait till a bad game to say that “I’m happy to eat crow after a season”; if you know, you know.
So when small pgs had great seasons what was the cause? I notice you cited only his height and arm length while ignoring he had the highest vertical in his draft class. Some reason you only talk about things that agree with you and ignore everything else?
He's clearly improving, which is really all you can ask for at this point in his career. I'd still like to see more, but I'm not as alarmed as I had been.
Like listening to people say Sengun's best case scenario is D-Mo... You can have an opinion, doesn't mean it's not bias and pre-disposed to doubling down on obviously being wrong.
All NBA players play better against bad defenses and worse against good defenses. This is one of the dumbest takes I've seen from you.
He didn't cost us the game. Amen getting gurt to turn SGA loose did. Durant getting passive and missing a free throw did. It's obvious you didn't watch...
His best shooting games last year: OKC CHI LAC UTA That's 4 of the 6 games he made more than 5 attempts. Based on defense points per 100, that's #1, #3, #18, and #30 defenses. So where is this stat padding against bad teams? That's 2 top 5 defenses and only one bottom third. Will you share what you imagined? By the way, the 2 other games where he shot poorly were LAL and BRK which were #16 and #20. I guess he forgot to pad the stats those nights....
Reeds 3 point shooting percentage looks good at first glance but he doesn't really have a lot of shot - gravity that bends defenses bc he doesn't take them enough in the normal course. Like iirc his one early 3 tonight was after he botched the 3 on 1 fast break & them went to the corner. I didn't watch the 4th so I didn't see his other one Smart move but he needs to be an above the break volume shooter per minute if he's not gonna be a negative out there
You dont know if hes trolling? That's what hes been doing for a while now he doesn't actually believe half the things he says he just wants to get a rise out of people. Ignore function and move on. Reminds me of the Fchowd dude from last year that would scour threads to argue with anyone who would criticize Jalen Green. Eventually every thread became a Jalen Green thread because of him. Similar patterns here.
If you think about our post-KD era, a lineup that includes Amen, Sheppard, Bari, and Sengun just makes so much sense. The only thing missing is high quality 3&D wings...you know, like Okogie and Eason.
Life is simply too short to spend too much time arguing with the room temperature IQ crowd. Let them pretend to think whatever they want to pretend to think.... just block them and move on to more productive conversations with their betters.
