Reality TV Business Tycoon Donald Trump is bad for business.

'Bad for business': CEO suing Trump in Supreme Court rails against 'unlawful' policy

The Supreme Court is preparing to hear a CEO's lawsuit against President Donald Trump over his claiming of emergency powers to unilaterally impose tariffs, and the executive is confident that his company will prevail.

Learning Resources CEO Rick Woldenberg is asserting that Trump's use of the International Economic Emergency Powers Act of 1977 to slap tariffs on imported goods without the consent of Congress is "unlawful." He told MSNBC on Tuesday that the tariffs amount to an "asphyxiating tax" of millions of dollars each year and are inhibiting his company's ability to make business decisions.

"The size of the problem and the size of the implications meant that we had to take action to defend ourselves. I think that the case is actually pretty simple," he said. "The government brags that it's $50 billion a month in proceeds. That's just not bearable. And they've also promised that this is permanent. So we either choose to pay a tax we believe is unlawful, or we challenge it and ask the court to review it and decide."

Woldenberg went on to say that he and his legal team were pushing for a decision to come down shortly after Wednesday's oral arguments. His main argument is that in 2024, his tariff-related expenses were $0, but in 2025 they will be approximately $14 million — with that cost potentially doubling in 2026.

"We're behaving the way someone would behave if they had a sudden and irreversible expense of $14 million," he said. "We're hiring fewer people. We're spending less money on [capital expenditures]. We're developing fewer products. We're reducing our marketing spend. It's it's bad for business because it's diverting us from exercising our business judgment, which is how we got this far and what we want to do going forward."

Trump is a disaster. Economy (which Biden was turning around) is in the dumpster now and companies are laying off weekly, using AI as an excuse. Not only that but everything has become more expensive, and there are strong indicators that a full on recession is upcoming. Not to mention the level of incompetence across all of our government instituations. Elections have consequences. You all voted for this.

To survive, the Rs have to distance themselves from Trump and run the risk of getting primaried.

Trump Imposes 25% Tariff On Chinese-Made Trump Products
    The Onion Staff
WASHINGTON—In an attempt to stop U.S. markets from being flooded with foreign-made campaign merchandise and other licensed items promoting his brand, President Donald Trump signed an executive order Friday imposing an additional 25% tariff on authorized Trump products made in China.
According to the White House, the new tariff makes good on the president’s long-running promise to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States, in this case by discouraging the Trump Organization’s retail stores from importing goods from China. The hope, advisors said, was that more of the Trump Store’s “45-47” sweaters, star-spangled Trump mugs, Gulf of America hats, and MAGA-themed pickleball equipment would be made on American shores.

“I am fighting back against these garbage and frankly toxic TRUMP products that the Chinese Communist Party is DUMPING on the American people—MUST END NOW!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, claiming that other countries were “ripping off” the United States with their cheap exports of official Trump-brand commemorative coins, “Golden Age of America” T-shirts, leatherette Trump pocket flasks, and ball caps featuring a cartoon eagle that shares the president’s trademark hairstyle. “China ate Biden’s lunch when they overran This Great Land with authentic TRUMP watches, jackets, and water bottles, not to mention faulty TRUMP Bibles, which don’t even include the complete words to ‘God Bless the USA.’ But now the era of shoddy ‘TRUMP 2028’ sneakers that fall apart the second you take them out of the box is OVER!”

The new tariff aims to increase production of Trump gear in America.
“This is the only way to ensure all licensed TRUMP merchandise is made right here in the USA,” Trump continued. “That TRUMP China crap is LOW CLASS JUNK!”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the 25% tariff would go into effect immediately, adding that the president could raise the rate further or even issue a directive prohibiting Chinese container ships full of Trump umbrellas, Make Summer Great Again shot glasses, and gold-toned Trump Mobile smartphones from docking at U.S. ports.

While the administration touted the new policy’s benefits for domestic manufacturing, many economists pointed out that the Trump Store might still choose to import goods from China, because it could simply pay the higher tariffs and pass the expense on to consumers in the form of higher prices. In such a scenario, financial experts said, the rising cost of Trump apparel and other assorted trinkets would hit lower- and middle-income households the hardest.

Lorna Cullins, a medical assistant and three-time Trump voter from Prathersville, MO, acknowledged it wouldn’t be easy to set aside an even greater share of her hard-earned wages for Trump gear, but she said it would be worth it in the long run.

“We’ll make do somehow,” Cullins, 53, told reporters, expressing confidence that the president knew what he was doing. “I’ll have to budget a little more carefully if I’m going to afford the red, white, and blue Trump headscarf I’ve had my eye on, not to mention that faux-diamond-studded MAGA necklace. On the plus side, maybe some of this stuff will be better quality if it’s made in the USA. That Trump-brand ‘Fight Fight Fight’ cologne has been giving my husband a rash.”

“And I can’t hear **** through these China-made Trump earbuds,” she added.

His rhetoric growing more combative as the day wore on, the president wrote on Truth Social that it was “un-American” and “treasonous” to move the production of official Trump merchandise offshore, and he vowed to hunt down the offenders and hold them fully accountable.

And somehow, even then, it reminded people of the 1970s.

If you wanna know what actual socialism is @strosb4bros @El_Conquistador this is it. Private corporations wanting taxpayers to guarantee them a profit while taxpayers subsidize all loses.

Of course none of the MAGATs will care about corporate socialism but God forbid you offer free public transportation and they'll riot

Trump is now polling as one of the most unpopular Presidents ever. I know you are saying "but that's just a bunch of whack-a-doodle polls". How could we really get the pulse of what the average voter really thinks? ... you know ... like an election or some such. Maybe like The Blue Tsunami of 2025?

Trump's Economic Miracle is giving a tax break to billionaires (you know, average everyday working Americans) and starting a Trade War with every country on the planet.

We are all left thinking that
    • Trump's dementia is kicking in
    • Trump knows that his policies are leading the country into a recession and he is bold face lying about it
    • Trump has no idea what is going, does not care and thinks he can BS his way out of this

Hard to pick from any one of narcissistic personality disorder, willful ignorance, below average smarts or dementia.

Delusional Trump Claims ‘Best Nine Months’ Of ‘Any President’
    November 5, 2025

Donald Trump seems to get more and more out of touch with reaity every day. Less than 24 hours after a Democratic tsunami on Election Day, the geriatric Epstein pal declared, “Our opponents are offering an economic nightmare. We’re delivering an economic miracle.” He went on to claim he’s had “the best nine months, they say, of any president and I really believe that.”

This is not socialism. In socialism the profits would go to the workers, not the capitalists. Corporate "socialism" would be more similar to fascism, but not really that either. This is crony capitalism which is pretty much pain old capitalism these days, since the supreme court has legalized it all.
