He’s played well in his role, but I still think bringing in that 3rd big at the expense of another ball handling shooter wasn’t the best trade off. I would have rather drafted a big in the 2nd round like Kaulkbrenner or signed a minimum guy for depth. I also think Clint is really declining, and I didn’t understand giving him 3 yrs guaranteed. Given how unproven and raw Reed is, I just don’t understand why one woukd think we needed Clint more than another guard. It’s hard because we didn’t know Fred woukd miss the entire season at the time. But there’s no point debating it. Clint’s on the team and getting 8-10 min a night, which is fine as long as he rebounds and plays defense. The lift on his lob threat isn’t what it was but at least it’s better than our other bigs. I still think he’s traded if we make a move at the deadline.

You are right, but I can't stop feeling very frustrated with CC. Maybe my expectations were too high. My problem is that this team is so good, and he is being given real minutes, I get angry when the minutes feel wasted or even counterproductive. I have different expectations for Reed. I expect Reed to poop the bed periodically because he's young. Still really a rookie. But CC should still be near his prime and legit NBA player. I just expect more and I think it's ok. But again, it would do me good to stress less and give him some time to rise to the level of the team which he's already starting to do.

The issue I have is that rebounds do not equate to good defense, and Capela is not playing good defense. Dwight Howard did the same at the end of his career - he gobbled up rebounds in an effort to stay in the league, but his defense was gone.

Maybe Capela surprises, but last year he wasn't very good on the defensive side of the ball.

Capela is still a very good rebounder. And that's it.

At this stage of his career, he's just another big and slow center who can come off the bench to get you some boards and play okay defense down low. There are plenty of centers like that to have, some of them can even shoot from outside.

"The Capela signing makes no sense"...........unless Capela becomes a trade throw-in for the point guard we so desperately need.

Look, we're all consenting (if not necessarily mature) adults here. Let Hulk smash.

With Steven Adams needing to have his minutes managed, having Clint Capella on the roster is hugely important.

Yes, he might not play as much as he or even a lot of us would like; but having depth at the center is very important into what the Rockets are doing.

Sengune nor Adams should be overused during the season, as having them healthy in the playoff’s is crucial.

I’m ok with CC. He’s still serviceable and had given our bigs Sengun and Adams some crucial rest. Our team with the giant lineup will be hard to beat when they finally jelled. This team is built for the playoffs and beyond when Adams and Sengun are the the league leaders in rebounding.

Stone wanted Reed to sink or swim. How we gonna get Kaulkbrenner we dont have a 2nd rounder and owe PHX like 5 srps or something?

He is playing better than before however I dont like the 3 yr deal seems like he is already declining and quite fast too.

6-10-2 on 100% shooting from the field and FT line in 16 minutes of play. That’s pretty good for the third string / part-time second string center.

Because it is true. It was a building process from the day he took over.
