However, voters have been conditioned to overlook these types of comments because they hear similar things all the time from President Trump. It’s just the consequence of moving the bar down. It took the Dems long enough to realize most voters have very low expectations of what their leaders say after a decade of MAGA - but expect the Democrats to copy the Republicans and run with it. So these tweets can feign outrage but most people are thinking “whatever dude”.
