I'm not interested in debating NYC policy direction. Maybe he will be terrible for New York, but I'm a Houstonian. What I care about is this accusation that he is making promises to people without a history in this country. Those are voters and citizens. You keep implying there is somehow a hierarchy of citizens worth listening to and serving and citizens who maybe you think shouldn't be citizens at all. To me, they're Americans and enough of them wanted Mamdani that now they have him. They're not a monolith.
