When the last person with real money moves out of New York down to the free state of Florida I hope New Yorkers have enough money left to fill up the busses for those free rides.

I'm all for the taxpayers not having to pay for the ballroom.

If your talking about the golfing/football/nascar/mma trips I dont have an issue with this. We had to pay for Biden to hangout on the beach for 1/2 of his POTUS.

The Dems end the govt shutdown and all of ends.

I'm glad that the GOP is finally standing their ground.

Well the Dems are about to elect a communist mayor. That's the truth. Are you on board with NYC becoming a communist city? In 2 yrs Mandami being elected mayor will actually help the GOP. Probably even by the midterms in 2026.

Ultimately Ted Cruz will lose on this one.

I know that Cruz wants Jewish votes, but many of the younger MAGA are not aligned much with Cruz.... who is starting to be out of touch. Also Cruz hasn't realized yet that he can dislike Jews and Palestinians.

I don't know which white folks they are polling - but I can tell you that the support for Trump from white men that are 20-40 years old and don't have a college degree is at an all-time high in the Midwest. Many of these guys are blue collar or are on the lower rungs of white collar.... they are very pro deportation and pro tariffs. Many of them were not Republicans before Trump, and I don't know how many of them will be Republican once Trump leaves ..... but for now, if you are a white male and making less than 80K a year and 40 or under, you and your wife are supportive of Trump. A lot of these guys in the Midwest have Mexican American wives too and they are very pro deportation.

In my larger friend group and acquaintances - I can say most of the black men that supported MAGA no longer do, except some that were always Republicans. Hispanics, seems to depend on how long there family has been in the USA. But the amount of white male support seems to be going up, and the amount of old white women too.

I would remind people that NONE of these people that are suddenly upset at Trump over economic issues have voiced ANY real issue over the ICE conduct, the invasion into large cities in Chicago or the curtailing of civil liberties. Their concern is 100% personal. The Democrats can learn from this ---

he has plummeted to a 20% approval rating with Gen Z and has fallen to 37% approval with millennials, so I really doubt that his approval rating is at an all-time high with white people in those demographics anywhere in the country…his approval rating is only decent (as in still underwater, but not drowning) with people over the age of 45

New York isn't going to lose all their wealthy people.

NYC has something like 400,000 millionaires and nearly 100 billionaires.

The list of cities with the wealthiest citizens in the USA is basically all liberal cities.

The cities with the wealthiest people are NYC, Bay Area, LA, CHI, HOU, DAL, SEA, BOS, MIAMI, DC.......

Every one of those cities has a Democratic mayor except for Dallas.

If anyone wants to attack a place like NYC it shouldn't be that they over tax the wealthy, it should be that there is income inequality which makes the cities hard to live in for those that are not wealthy.

I agree with you that Mamdani is pretty much a democratic-socialist. He is more liberal than any NYC mayor in recent memory, but he is going to be limited in what he can do - and look at his competition, two disgraced corrupt politicians. Also, as Republicans have become more extreme with MAGA - the Democrats, especially younger Democrats have become more extreme. We live in a time of political upheaval - and that means that having people like Trump and Mamdani are going to win elections, and I expect similar extremes in other parts of the country.

Well - all I can tell you is that isn't consistent with the people I know and the larger circle of people around me. I definitely believe that Trump is less popular than a year ago - and I know people that voted for him and regret it, but almost all of those are black and Hispanic and a few white women. Interestingly enough, most of the seniors I know do not support Republicans in the numbers that they did even 5 years ago..... many of them simply do not trust Trump.

Again - this is just my personal experience. I have a wide net of people I know and have dealings with - and the one demographic still strong for Trump is white men with lower socio-economic situations that are middle aged and younger.

The Midterms are going to tell us a lot, because the Republicans will start to back off the more extreme takes if Trump cannot deliver the midterms.

Who am I kidding --- the Democrats will get a blind guy drunk and hand him the keys to a Hellcat to drive on the highway. There will be no sound strategy of decision making worth a damn.

I 100% agree that his support is still strong amongst poor white Gen Z and millennial men. In your area they may be supporting him like never before, but overall, and across the country, there is simply no way that could be the case and he has numbers like this, especially when the number one issue was the economy…a lot of Gen Z and millennials aren’t as hardcore cult-like for MAGA

Your first sentence is all I was saying........ he still has strong support from lower middle class white men in the Midwest..... he has lost support from other groups from the people I know and talk to. The deportation fascination with the white men under 40 is really odd as well, that is a large reason they support Trump. As for Gen Z and Millennials, I don't think that they are staunch MAGA or Republicans either ... they are attached to Trump to some degree though.

I had commented on this earlier…these tokens are getting spent

as republicans go more and more mask off, they will have no more use for these sambo soldiers like Byron Donalds…they are only tolerated because they can be used as shields for their white supremacist beliefs by having a black or brown person say it instead of them…but now, they are getting comfortable just saying everything themselves and no longer have to put up with these tap dancing self-hating Uncle Toms who they never liked to begin with

this sambo soldier really just sat there and typed up with a straight face that his party has always stood for the Constitution, civil rights (are you fcking kidding me), free speech, freedom of religion, and small govt…
