Just wait for Mcdaniels to come available. That dump in Florida looks really bad on his leadership and we may be able to keep him for several years.
We need to clean house. Of course, the problem is the McNairs still own the team. So, a quarter century now...the city held hostage...subject to the whims of incompetent boobs regarding football ....nevertheless, systematically bilking the rubes.
Not really there might be 3-6 available candidates after the season. Stefanaki McDaniel Daibol Mike McCarty Doug Pederson Zac Taylor Not Including CFB HC that might wanna get out of the NIL game and take an OC job.
CJ needs to go too. You certainly dont want to pay 50-60 mil per yr for mediocrity and a QB that's been broken.
I would get rid of Caserio, Demeco, and all his staff. Trade CJ and start over. This current iteration of a team is just as bad as few years ago. Time to move on.
I'm not against this but I dont want any half measures if this is the way Cal and Hannah decide to go. What are the odds of them going all in on this? Zero IMHO If the McNair's aren't all in then I hope that they keep everybody and the McNair's keep everybody in place and mandate doing what it takes to invest in fixing the OL even if that means letting guys like Hunter/Autry/Azziz go and spending draft capital as well. Dont extend CJ until they can see how he does with a really good OL, then make decisions at the GM/HC/QB positions after that..
No don’t trade the qb. It’s too hard to find a decent qb. Not trying to go through the savage-yates-taylor-hoyer-mills type qbs again. Looking at Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones good offensive coaching can make a huge difference for a qb.
Dont live in fear, the best way to ensure mediocrity is to pay a QB that isn't top 5 60 mil per yr. You cant put enough talent around the QB to win a SB because of the salary cap.
She and the fan council made Caserio draft CJ. So I'll let you be the judge. She could be incompetent and still be better than most in the Texans org.
I really like CJ as a person, but I don't think he is a "generational" QB. His "processing" speed is in question.
I think he is getting better and adjusting to the new scheme, but your right, it's not been great, you can actually see it in real time, but he is better than game one. CJ has shown flashes of what he "can be" and I think it's so hard to judge him with this O Line and his second OC which IMO is not better than the last one. I don't want to go onto the next QB search until we fix the offense. Imagine what a guy like McVay or Sean Payton could do with this kid...............we need an OC of that caliber, who will OWN the offense and have an IDENTITY with a real O Line, this year after year of a bunched offense is so vanilla and running 3 straight plays up the gut on the Broncos D from the 1 was the DUMBEST thing I have seen this offense try and do, like your just going to "will" the O Line to beat them, Good Lawd please...............Earl Campbell wasn't getting in.........(ok, maybe my analogy was bad but you get the point )
Look, we went from going toe to toe with the Chiefs to...this. It's obviously the OLine, OC, no RB like a healthy Mixon, tough schedule, and not being able to stretch the field with a speedy receiver after losing Tank. CJ IS NOT the problem.
