Yeah, he was scored on. My biggest gripe with his game tonight was in the first half he had a wide open pull up transition three. But instead passed it to a lesser shooter. Let it fly Reed.
I know which one. Nobody within 10 feet. That was the angriest I got on him all season. If he can't do that he shouldn't be in the NBA
Reed has been fine this year. Peoples expectations of him are ridiculous. He had a bad game. Amen, Sengun and KD have each had a bad game. Get better and move on.
I mean I understand his point. Every player will have a bad game. My biggest issue with Reed isn’t his defense it’s his hesitation. Let the shot fly.
uhhh...this comparison is not valid. At all. You're comparing him to proven and tested contributors. We can barely leave Reed on the floor.
Reed is basically on his rookie year for how little he played. We’ve seen how Cooper just went from good player to useless when the game was on the line. Reed is feeling just as much pressure and he is not a PG and will take multiple years before even able to handle the ball. Derrick White was not a good player either but those small guards can bloom much later so it’s okay to keep develop him and worst case we can extend him for like cheap and pays off much later
Reed is a great teammate. He always helps teammates up off the floor. He gives high fives. He claps vigorously when he’s on the bench. Just an all around swell guy with a positive attitude.
I want him to succeed. Feel bad for the dude. But he needs to change his game seriously. Watch lots of film and get honest advice
Bro it’s only game 6 for him (don’t count last year). It took Stephen Curry 3-4 seasons to blossom. If Sheppard even becomes half of Curry, we won that draft.
I don't consider this an excuse by this logic Alpha Kabba has so much untapped potential he is an NBA fetus not seeing any play at all. I don't agree keeping Reed for multiple years if the ceiling isn't high when we can play good players now like Holiday or JD. It's just costing us wins for little gain. We should develop stars not role players.
He won't become 1/10 of Curry, Curry was seeing opponent pressure from day 1 in Davison. Reed can't get his shot off in isolation.
He will need to learn how to contribute even when the defenses are attacking him. Ime has pretty strict standards of play and will put someone else in if needed. It's simply going to take time with Reed in order for him to succeed.
There are times where he makes the right defensive play and others where he resorts to his old "ole" defense where he tries to strip from behind. His shot was off today (as was everyones). He went schizo mode before getting yanked but ultimately he'll look at the film and learn from it. Overall pleased where he's at in his 58th overall game.
Reed has definitely made progress since last year but we need a FVV out there right now so it's easy to get frustrated when it's time to win it all and you have to see someone make the kind of mistakes he does when the team can't afford it.
People will keep attacking me for saying this but IMO Reed is just the stat pumper against bad teams. Maybe he improves as the season goes on but if its a close game we need to win Holiday or JD are better. When we have the next blow out watch Reed go off and you will have everyone attacking me again for his "great" game. It'll happen like clockwork.
We don't need FVV we just need another copy of Okogie, another high effort guard who plays elite defense and shoots open 3s. FVV would drag this team down because the ball will be in his hands instead of our big 3.
I dunno I think someone needs to be able to handle the ball to get Amen back in the dunker spot where he thrives. Him and Sengun have such good chemistry when he cuts makes everything easier.
didn’t always like FVV playstyle, but last years team compared to this years is completely different. I’m pretty sure he’d know sengun and Thompson would be running the show over him
